    Hi All

Firstly, I can't believe I remembered my account details. I think that's a sign I should update my passwords...

Little back story. I owned a tt man 300zx as my first car about 17 years ago. Been through a whole bunch of cars since but have always loved the z32. One came up at auction not too long ago in the same spec that appeared fairly straight that I ended up bidding on and ended up winning. I really don't have room for another car but I wasn't thinking about that when the auction timer went red and all you have to do is click 'bid'.

It's since turned up and looks as it did in the photos but as expected, found quite a few surprises that you can only see in person. I tried to trouble shoot as much as I could but it's above my skillset and still running very rich and rough so it's booked in for a proper check up next week. Hoping that the engine health is ok and it's just the 30 year old perishables that need to be replaced.

The car is a bit of a mystery because it has obviously had some time and money put into some areas. Like a full respray but other areas were completely neglected. It also has a HHO hydrogen enhancer controller still hooked up that I had never even heard of before I saw it that I'm sure is contributing to the running issues. Has wires going into the MAF sensor and dials to adjust the air/fuel mix. Thankfully, looks like it has been hugely on the rich side. This will be coming straight out.

Anyway, that's where things are at right now. Extremely happy to have one again and fingers crossed all goes well next week and I can set off on the journey of cleaning it up. I'm sure I'll be leaning on your experience and lessons learnt throughout the process.

Congratulations man, I hope you enjoy it. The only thing I don't like about this post is that it made me realise 2005 was 17 years ago...

Many married men have become short term domestic slaves after doing that :D

That depressed me, but not enough. So I looked up the Dog Years equivalent.
    Now I'm suitably depressed. Thanks.

Thanks everyone for the kind words.

I thought the same thing after I looked up what they actually were... If you're buying a zed, a gimicky fuel saver is not going to be the answer to costs haha I couldn't find any of the hardware that would normally go with one of these units. Only the 'controller'. Not sure if the rest was installed at some time or if it was intended for some other purpose. Can't think of one though.

Plates arrived the other day :D. Dropped it at the mechanic and awaiting the diagnosis.
