I think the price is right for this - but I also think its getting harder to sell Z's as they get older as well, good ones are worth more but the buyer pool is getting smaller.

And because it's a convertible, there were no convertibles in Need For Speed. My age group won't want a convertible (18-25 y/o's) even tho the engine is probably perfect and interior in great condition.

Convertibles have always commanded a price premium due to their rarity. Less of a age group thing, and more of waiting on the right enthusiast.

If you want a zed worth money down the track it would be this or a slicktop manual TT.

Baz, why isn't it on Carsales?

I dont think these guys know what there talking about baz i think the best thing to do is part it out. Zed are cheap and ugly nasty and go like crap so just part it out.
P.s did i mention. Ill take all the interior. All of it

Graham .... appreciate the sentiments ... and it is a beautiful machine in good condition.

The reality is that i am well and truly over my Zedfever ..... and will accept a fair offer.

Mileage is low for age (1993 - 176,000) and it now serves as my Golf Cart twice a week and the Shopping Trolley twice a week ... a grossly under utilised performance vehicle.

Am looking seriously at a trade in on a small town car which is all I need given that we have wifey's Sportivo for trips.

Sorry Baz, had a flick through the other day and couldn't find it. Found it now :)

A trade would probably only net you $3000, and that car in its preserved condition should command a premium price of $10k.
If I were not in the middle of house renovations, I'd be jumping at that car.

Hi Baz, I sold my yellow convertible for $12,000 over a year ago now. It looked real smick outside and in, but mechanically it was way from perfect.
I think your car is a bargain at the price you have it. Can I suggest a few tips though!
Retake the photos! firstly remove the steering wheel cover and those seat covers! which will show how good the interior is. Get it polished and interior cleaned and then retake the photos in a nice surrounding, say a park or ocean background. You will be surprised on how many more inquiries will come your way. Ive found selling zeds (Ive sold 3) in recent years they need to look "CLEAN & TIDY", I know they are getting long in the tooth, but the best looking ones get the best prices and sell quicker if they look good.
If its mechanically sound you dont need to worry about it getting picked to bits, as you can demonstrated how it runs by taking a them for a drive. The 3 zeds I sold the prices were: 89 Burgundy Slicktop RWC, $12,000, 93 Yellow Convertible $12,000 RWC, 89 Silver Slicktop $10,000 no RWC. The Silver zed was by far the best car, but needed timing belt service and a few other pricey things doing to it. I was going to let it go for $12G with a RWC.
So Baz, I think you need to do a few things to help with the sale, and if its not too difficult sell it with the Roadworthy, as some buyers are wary of what might need doing.
You certainly do have a desirable Zed! Chin up mate! It will sell!

Thanks Stu ..... yep, have a professional polish lined up and will be doing a whole new advert/photoshoot in the near future.

the interior is in top shape as is the duco .. I have no issue in going for an RWC and do not expect any issues ... the cheaper non RWC price is to provide an even better option for DIY, should there be happen to be any particular minor issue arising from a RWC check.

    The machine runs beautifully.

I am really over the Zed game ... the car is an absolute bargain (insured for $18,500 !!!) and I am open to a reasonable offer .... if it does not sell after the makeover advert, then too bad; it will go to a trade-in and some Zedder will miss out on the deal of the decade.

Can I suggest you blacken that infill panel, is it cracked? Mine was cracked, so I placed a strip of sign-writing vinyl over it and trimmed around it, (I am a sign-writer though).
Made all the difference to the rear look, instead of the brown faded look. I might be able to help you out with the vinyl if you cant get anything locally. I need the measurements width and height.

Thanks for the suggestion, Stu ..... will have a look at that option.

The infill panel was cracked when I bought it in 2009 and remains cracked ...for some reason, I prefer the brown look... I reckon it was brown from new .....
