    Stock engine mounts for me.

Cam did snap at end of the straight so they are under a lot more strain then a street car. 20 years old as well!! Been a race car since 1995 so that's a lot of racing.

Hey rob does raising the fuca inner pivot point and leaving the lower pivot point stock create any issues?

Cant see any issues as it will bring it back close to stock
but your roll centres will still be out .

I guess they aren't parallel stock. You have no lower arm correction right?

    Quick update

Took gears to machine shop and checked the new BDE gears and both were out of balance as expected .

One isn't running as true to centre as the other one and causing enough vibration for concern.
Machine shop also expressed concern regarding the weight and balance of these .

BDE is happy to exchange it but can't guarantee the next one will be better or worse.
Asked if he could check one for me before sending another ....have had no reply .

I would urge anyone one running VCT gears to at least get them balanced . .especially series 2 .

So I'm going to go ahead and get these ones mbalanced .
As far as weight ...be lucky to get 100 -200grams off these.

Shame to hear that about BDE products. How does balancing work with the VCT mechanism though, do you need to rebalance all the gear's components?

That's BS on BDE's behalf IMO.

    Supposed to be the best

I believe all stock gears are unbalanced and dont all run true .
Its a factory production item.some worse than others

    As far as balancing
... my gears are set to the previous degee adjustment and getting balanced as a whole assembly

No real other way to do it

.BDE should check them .. since its some what modified

I've dropped off another set of series 2 gears at machine shop ...just to get an idea of how true and balanced they are from factory

Thanks for all the info Rob, I'll get my S1 BDE's balanced just to be sure. Couldn't hurt

    Thank you BlackBeast!
I have no idea as to what to request at the machine shop or what areas to be lightened but im assuming once it's on a lathe of some sort they will detect something.
...This is a start and has possibly saved our engines from much harm.

So I just went digging through my correspondence and with my build it was held up briefly and it was regarding the BDE gears I purchased and wanted.

Wasn't any information why or specifically why but thTs curious

Any concerns of corrosion running e85 in aluminium? Looking into running new hardlines back to front and there are mixed reviews about using bare aluminium with e85.

    Same with surge tank.

I did have a leak in my surgetank in last year ,,but I put it down to weld job .Its was rewelded and been fine since.

I cant see a problem running it but cant hurt to get things hard anodized.

I researched on alloy, muchness of opinion i thought.
...Bundy ss 316-318? tube right through for me, worked out around $50-60 with 2 metres left over.
I'll take my old lines (shaped to preference) & bundy to Pirtek and have them bend the bundy to suit, $100 p/h + 4 double ferule fittings or permanent fittings.

When I asked about 1st hand experiences with corrosion and aluminum fuel components Mungyz piped in and explained how an aircraft place down the road tried and couldnt get it to work long term due to filter blockages.
