The 300zx electrical testers we've been purchasing in various Group Buys recently are no longer available :(

I grabbed the last of the suppliers remaining stock and have put together some discounted packages for forum members.

I have assembled a few bundles consisting of :-

    1 x 300zx ignition tester

1 x 300zx injection tester (multiple options available)

    1 x 300zx VTC tester

    1 x 300zx DSE (detonation sensor eliminator)..........optional

The basic package is available for $65.00

Because some zed owners still retain their Detonation Sensor, I've made the DSE an 'option' for an additional $12.75 (Full package price $77.75)

An $8.25 Australia Post Postpak will have delivery to your door (within Australia) in a couple of days

Because I'm doing the entire kit packaged as one complete bundle in one Postpak, you are effectively buying the FULL parcel at a cheaper price than the original Group Buy participants

You won't have to wait a month or more for a GB to be finalised, and you'll receive immediate delivery on the purchase of a single bundle.

Every 300zx owner should have a set of these indispensable testers in their toolkit if they're serious about fault finding and maintenance on their zed.

PM me to grab a bundle or if you have any further questions.

    Interested in
    *injector tester
    And
    *ignition tester

I already have the VTC ;)

Do you have a previous post about how the injector and ignition testers work?

    I don't have the VTC ?
Just reading about it now, to decide if I need one.

    You only buy it once.....

but it is in your zed toolbox forever

I have tools/equipment I'd be lucky if I use once a year, BUT, when that once a year day arrives the specialized tool pays for itself 'ten times over'

    300zx Electrical Tester information......

Here are some excerpts from earlier posts detailing the testers.

300zx Ignition & Fuel Injection testers

These little 'plug in fault finders' will test the electrics in your zeds ignition and fuel injection circuits to help pin point exactly where your problems lie (and with 20yr+ old zeds, you WILL experience problems). I was provided a pair of these gadgets for evaluation, and found them simple and straight forward to use on the zed. Much easier than using a multimeter (which can't catch the millisecond injector/ignition pulses anyway), and especially 'user friendly' if you're not familiar with the zeds electrical circuitry (which can drive you to drink). The beauty of these units is in their 'plug and play' capability....... Each cylinder still runs normally while you're testing (other testing methods all drop the cylinder you're testing), this is a BIG plus if you're only running on 4 cylinders to start with  (zeds don't like running on 3 cylinders)

These things automatically demonstrate function on injector and coilpack signals, wiring continuity, power, relay, ecu, ptu, cas etc for each cylinder without even needing to look at a wiring diagram  (Injection testers are available for oem, nismo and sard injectors, so everyone is covered)

I was provided with the 300zx Ignition & Sard injector testers for my evaluation

The test lamp units are fully sealed, so water/oil/dirt and grit won't damage or shorten their life in any way, and the use of Green LED's guarantees high visibility in all lighting conditions  Each tester comes with 3M adhesive backing and facility for screw attachment to a mounting plate. (I found them easier to use 'as is')

    300zx Valve Timing Control tester

The secret to the zeds grunt is in the VTC. This intricate mechanism fattens up the torque curve of a zed immensely, providing that much desired midrange.

The smarties amongst us can manipulate the release point of the VTC to gain the most out of our tweaked zeds, but not many understand how it works..... even less have the ability to test whether it's functioning correctly or not. That's where the VTC tester comes in. In a similar vein to the other testers from this supplier, this latest tester is a 'plug and play' item. Straight out of the box this tester assesses power, ECU signal, on/off control, wiring continuity, fusible link/fuse condition, ignition switch function and a raft of sensor functions without interrupting normal VTC operation

No dyno needed for VTC testing. I laid the tester along the windscreen cowl and closed the bonnet before 'road testing' the zed.........awesome, I verified full operational function of my VTC without having my wallet strapped to a dyno

It was great to know that my VTC was functioning correctly, but I found it more enlightening to actually see how often the VTC is engaged, and under what conditions

    Detonation Sensor Eliminator (DSE)

For those that don't know, when your detonation (knock) sensor fails it is not possible to replace it with the motor still in one piece  Also, failure induces your ecu to permanently throw a fault code (34) which defaults your fuel/timing maps to safety mode producing very lacklustre performance in your zed.

This is where the Detonation Sensor Eliminator comes in......you unplug the subharness with the dud sensor and plug in the DSE. It now impersonates the knock sensor, supplying the correct signal to the ecu stopping it from throwing a fault code and ensuring you extract maximum performance from your zed :)

It's as easy as that :D (plug and play)

Thanks for your efforts on behalf of everyone involved. I'm think that a lot of us don't realise how much effort is involved in finding a deal, ordering, getting everyone organised, keeping track of who has paid and who hasn't, posting, etc. etc.

    Cheers,
    Evan (EvZ)
