As most of you know, earlier in the year we travelled down to Syd to collect the wizmobile aka Silver Bullet.

I had plans to NOT TINKER WITH ANYTHING, just drive it any enjoy it.

But you know how it goes, there is always something... After being defected in the red zed, I planned on not having to go through the BS again, so everything on this car will be mod plated, engineered or whatever else is required to be left alone.

First changes were made prior to even collecting the car! I bought some racaros in Sydney and had them delivered to Ron's place. He was nice enough to install them for me haha Ron had a Bride drivers seat, which could not be mod plated, so it had to go (still made the trip home in the boot tho) ;)

    Magic!

Next step was getting all the mods plated before roadworthy and rego. Not going to lie, I was alot nervous, but turns out I had nothing to fear!

    Great Success!

Next to go was the tweed, swapped out for the complete interrior of my red zed (front and back, console, glovebox, shifter boot, handbrake boot), and installed my brand new 2k shift knob that I had been saving for a rainy day, and this is how it stayed until after zedfest.

Now, being that the engine is top notch, the limiting factor for output was the nismo 555's that was one of the first upgrade Ron did years ago, and also the single AFM.

And considering that I still had in my possession, the engine from the red zed, I struck a deal with the buyer to swap out the 1000's for the 555's :D

There are a few threads fault finding after the install, but in the end I got it running with the 1000's and a selin unit/twin intake.
During the process, I fixed up the mickey mouse ears (which funnily enough I bought from Ron a few years ago and never installed) and sourced another AEM wideband and installed them (one still requires the sensor installed in exhaust) and got it talking to Nistune for logging.

Idle still needs some tinkering, but after a couple of hrs on the dyno with Karl (90TTZ), the result was good.

We were just starting to dial in the boost controller when we hit some missing. So some ignition upgrades are on the way in the form of new coilpacks and plugs (and an ignition amp in the near future).

After lots and lots of research, I have decided to test some plugs next time on the dyno. Some denso iridiums (N/A config), and some OEM tt config platnums in a 7 heat range.

Future plans are to install the 2.5in intake kit and IC piping kit. I had an attempt at install, until I worked out that engine mounts need changing to do it. Not doing that until I have too, bought this zed so I didn't HAVE to pull things apart!

Other longer term decision, is possibly installing the W/M kit from the red car and possibly deleting IC altogether (as per Karl), or going the E85 path, haven't decided yet.

AND I still have the massive wheels for the widebody.

Still not sure how this is going to turn out yet tho, with the technical issues Al has hit recently. Either way, I am going to need some bigger, fatter rubber than the 265 19's on the back currently.

    One more for good measure

Good to see the thread continueing with someone I know and trust will look after the car to the pedigree it was before.

Glad all those issues sorted out also.

Good power, 400rwkw club member ;)

Have to ask how you got the wideband a talking to Nistune- I'm interested.

Most widebands have a usb output, however the AEM does not. It needs its output wired to a serial plug and then to a serial -> usb converter (if your laptop doesn't have a serial in)

Then a simple config in hyperterminal and then nistune can see it, display and log. Easy peasey! I have my cabling routed under the dash and kept in the glovebox, so it is easy to access and plug into the lappy when required.

Went for a last minute drive to test the new coilpacks and plugs (under load) before the drags on Sat.
    Instant missing with boost :(

Very fast turnaround to pull plugs and gap them right down. No more missing.

Out at the drags I somehow managed to break something in the gearbox. Car was stuck in 4th so had to drive the whole way home in 4th.

Spent yesterday afternoon removing the gearbox. Need to open it up as ecternally everything is fine.

Going to take the oppertunity for have another go at the 2.5in intake piping with the addition of some slimline engine mounts (while I have access with the box out).

Also, since I had to remove the exhaust anyway I'll finally get the other wideband bung installed and hook it up also.

Nah not really, was working my way into it having never had slicks before. 1.9 was best of the 2 slips I collected. Think that was my first pass.
