After looking around for a cost-effective way to get an Apexi Air Filter for the 300zx, I contacted a supplier in Japan - Japex Trading Ltd - who will do a GB cost of just $95 each delivered in Australia (possibly NZ too?) if we get at least 10 people on board. The Apexi model 500-A022 bolts directly to the Z32 AFM and is considered an excellent aftermarket air intake upgrade. If you are happy buying an alternative brand, please keep your opinions out of this thread. All legitimate questions, please post away or PM.

I plan to keep this GB open over two weekends - so last day Sunday 22nd September. Once we have 10 I'll contact the supplier regarding payments and providing delivery information. Delivery is expected to be between 5-10 business days.

I have left it at 10 for the moment as the supplier says that if more than 10 are needed, will need to order more in, but I'll keep in touch with them regarding our numbers. At worst, those after the first 10 may have to wait an extra couple of weeks for theirs to be delivered, at best all can be sent at the same time. So feel free to go beyond 10, but understand you may wait a bit longer.

whats the regular rrp on these? (ie how much are saving)

and is it delivered to you, then extra post out to the individuals, or is it to each persons location individually?

if it is to you, then arrangements can (probably should) be made to get a responsible person in each state to recieve and distirbute that states orders.

and yes, pending answers, i might be interested.

Coz sell the filters for USD $60

Freight for 2 filters is USD $75
Freight for 4 filters is USD $95.

You may be able to get a better deal on the freight for a larger quantity.

No, not sent to me then re-sent, more cost effective to just directly deliver to each person. It's $95 for one to be purchased and delivered to your own address. Prices for the bulk postage then resending would have actually not have been cost effective.

For example, Japex quoted for Ten filters $78 each plus $150 for postage from Japan, which would make it $93 each, then added cost of me posting them out or you collecting them. $95 with individual postage makes sense in this case.

From what I can see, the COZ link is the filter (and possibly bolts, but does say 'filter only') - from Japex is the filter, bolts and gaskets.

    From the COZ link:
This is a universal 75mm Power Intake replacement filter (filter only) for replace existing Apexi Power Intake Kit w/ 75mm filter element. (but I can see that it's the correct filter number for our AFM: 500-A022, not some 'generic' 75mm filter)

I presumed the gaskets are required, maybe somebody could clarify if this is true or if the gaskets are only used when adapting to a non-OEM AFM. Below is the pic from Japex:

Comparing to COZ, the $60 initially looks a lot cheaper, but this is US dollars. So taking into account the exchange rate plus the extra 2% for currency conversion added by credit card provider, each replacement filter would be around $68-$70 plus postage.

In bulk, 4 filters at USD $60 + $95 postage would come in at USD $335, which again including previously mentioned costs would be around AUD $380..... AUD $95 each. And that's in bulk to my door, not individually posted.

So the way I see it, this is still the cheapest way to get one sent individually to your door.

No, that's fine - fair enough question to ask.

There are MANY fake Apexi filters out there. Here's a good video I found that shows some differences.

I am NOT saying for certain that the filter you linked to is fake - but I was unable to get clarification from the seller about some of the finer details of their Apexi kit listed on eBay, so I was looking for the most cost-effective filter that I felt comfortable offering as a GB, seeing as I would receive one myself and as the GB organiser, be responsible for others satisfaction with the product. I will attempt to contact them again this weekend. If no response, then personally I'm not interested in taking the risk.

EDIT: If we can find a supplier of genuine Apexi filters for a cheaper price delivered, then I'm all for it! (ie. I'm not linked with Japex) The last thing I would want to do is create a GB that is more expensive! lol  Quality of product and participant's satisfaction is just as important to me as cost.

What for? The eBay link? So you bought one, it was shit, you got a refund and a replacement?

No it was a different item that had a fault.

This is the first I've seen of them selling this air filter.

You use the rectangular gasket with the Z32 MAF.

If Japex are willing to send the 10 filters to 10 different addresses then it is a good deal. If Japex will only send to one address then you should be able to get 10 filters cheaper through coz. If you are prepared to wait then sea freight should cheaper.

Not everything is a copy on ebay .

There are big sellers that buy bulk and / or have been holding on to stock so selling items quicker by lowering price .

Price is not as cheap as the $20 china ones so worth looking at if they are genuine for a better GB deal

Interesting also mentions ships in bubble wrap not the original box. Apparently to reduce postage via a 3kg satchel...
Does mention can ship in original box but postage to be adjusted...

Also Apexi lists part number 507-N009 as the correct kit for the Z32.

The replacement filter only is part number 500-A022.

Looks like the kit includes mounting brackets.
