Bypassed the FPCU.

Zed starts again. Happy about that

 

Replaced turbo pipes earlier in the week with some cheap ones. Seem to be holding up OK.
Took it for it's weekly drive last night. Got raced by a L plater in a honda. In a 50 zone. He would have been doing about 100, while I was maintaining a legal speed.
Kids these days.

 

Zapped

Was working on one of my z and my mates z31. The 31 was running on 5 cylinders, so I pulled out the spark plug leads one by one, and on the fourth lead I got zapped ( what was Rambo screaming about ) the car ran a little better till I let go:rofl: do not think ill do that again.

 

Pulled my ECU and sent it to SA for a short holiday.

 

test fitted and screwed the stillen type 111 skirts on ..getting them ready for paint.

they fit perfect. 5 mins for a slight trim of an edge where the doors open.

Started the rebuild of the Block and when I pulled the pistons from the cleaning bath found 1 piston had 2 cracks at the ring lands. Lucky I have a few spare grade 2 pistons lying around.
I will get this motor rebuilt come hell or high water, even if it takes some time.
Ahhhhhh the delights of restoring/modifying 24 year old cars.

I got given a new decal for my car! I think it looks alright! Might get rid of it soon though

 

Who would have thought aftermarket cup holders were a defectable part.

 

Thought I was being safer by having a holder for my coffee. Guess I was wrong hahah

 

Prepped my recaros to finically go into the zed after sitting around for 3 months

 

got one of these. diagnosed my poor starts to weak spark plugs.. runs like a dream again.. highly reccomend this to any zedder..
70 bucks,, ordered it tuesday, arrived thursday arvo from china !!

also allowed me to re gap some irridiums and make sure the tips wernt damaged in the process

Short Block finally assembled.

 

Added the best performance mod....bonnet strut kit....lol
Also some new rubber, it's actually a pretty good feeling to put that power to the ground now.....:rofl: hardest part is holding on that steering wheel

 

Finally organised some time for 2nd attempted exhaust on my Slicktop, after finding the full Veilside Evolution was far too loud.
New 200CPSI S/S Cats, UAS S/S Centre Muffler and Magnaflow S/S twin 3" outlet rears. Magnaflow expansion tips wouldn't clear the Stillen valance, so had to cut off and replace with some flared 3" S/S pipe extensions

Sounds....... angry

 

Still only 5mm clearance on from the valance, but solid enough to not hit. Tips will need cutting back at some stage when time permits again... maybe next year.

LOL. ......but this afternoon i did give the zed a clean, parked it in the shed with a cover on it. It will come back out soon enough
