Madcow, I'm no expert but when I was researching Cam gears and the play I was getting on mine, on youtube there is a few videos where it shows you why they rattle. Main reason is the inner gear wears wear out, and when removed you can actually turn the inner gear by hand. There is no turn or play what so ever with these gears. These gears can out of an engine with only 66,000 miles on it. At the end of the day I never had a chance to replace my gears before selling the car, so they haven't been tested and for anyone it might be a risk, thats why selling quite cheap.
