hey its early ok.. I couldn't think of a better tittle..

Ok so I've been talking to the fundraise crew and am happy to put my hand up to organise some events to support Eric....

So.... here is what I have in mind

    1) Cruise + donation ending in bbq for sale at Serp Dam or something down towards Mandurah.

Its a great run where you can really open up the zeds abit on some country roads with an awesome view and a swim at the end if you like

    Simple to pull off

    2) A quiz night... lets get out of the car and mingle a bit

Tables of say 6, maybe $120 a table.. so its $20 each
    Half a dozen rounds,
    prizes etc
    Food and Drinks for sale

If we want to go bigger i know some halls we can get easy enough thats all catered perfectly otherwise I am happy to host as I have a big enough back yard to house plenty.

If a success we could do it every few months to help Eric with some ongoing costs.

If people want to approach their bosses for prizes or local businesses etc then sweet, if anyone wants to donate stuff for prizes then also great and can be all hush hush if you like.

I'm happy to get both up and running in the next week or 2 with a month lead time for the cruise and 2 months for the quiz maybe to gather teams... teams of friends and family that are looking for a good night out.

    Thoughts?

    I'm in. :)
Not much point in putting money towards a hall / catering. I know I'd rather put that extra stash o' cash toward a healthy recovery :)
I know I wouldn't be able to comprehend what happened if this situation happened to Liz, or a close friend / family member. It's just horrible :(

i have some good contacts that im going to approach, Manning hall holds 150 people with 150 seats, 20 tables, stage, PA, kitchen etc etc and for charity events it can be quite cheap, talking $150 for the night...

It can make it alot easier when everything is there ready to go than a make-shift event...

If you are going to be there from say 7-10:30 and drinking then yes, catering is a must, but it would be put $10 in for food and we get dominos to send us 30 pizza's that only costs $1 per person for example.... spend $1 to make $9.

but only if its cheap etc, no chance would be paying like a grand to use a hall.

Ok so venue I can line up....

Now we need to think about prizes..

mind you with the lack of enthusiasum if numbers are going to be low then I won't bother spending my time to organize the event...

hit up some of the zed shops for:

    free service vouchers?
cant remember which member here, but one works a tyre shop, maybe a discount on tyres or something?

im sure there are other members on the west coast that own a business and willing to donate something maybe?

    just a few suggestions

Yeah I could do something along those lines... Or 4 free balanced valued at $60 or something... That way people don't have to spend money to get the discounts, cause it's free! :D Everyone loves free things :)
Prizes like this generally have to be work labour related, cause the money spent on prizes could just be donations :)

I was gonna hit you up to talk to your bosses... tell them the story etc.. if we can't get free stuff stuff then a wheel alignment and tyres rotated etc or something would be a good prize.

As would money for the kittie etc...
