I have done search regarding this topic and jumped on-line for some quotes although not accurate.

An over 40 year old driver, with modifications, insured for $26000, drive less than 5k per year. currently paying new quote of $1381 per year is this fair value. If that other insurance companies do not want to insure old cars with agreed value, only market value. Any good quotes out there or better.

With third party 10k market value is Max most companies willing to pay.

    Help will be appreciated

Only yhing you can really do is shop around. If you want agreed value $26k you are going to limit your options big time. When I was insurance shopping Shannons was the only one who would give me the $40k that I wanted (and even then it was hard work getting there), the next best offer was $18k even though I supplied all the same documentation etc that I did for Shannons.

I've been with shannons since 2005 and this was the very first year my agreed value dropped from 30k down to 26k so I consider myself lucky. My premium skyrocketed for no reason, told them only drive the car less than 12 times per year lucky to put 300kms on the clock. They were good, however I am still waiting from a quote for Lumley and just cars, if they cannot beat that quote I will stick with shannons or consider selling the car. Currently the insurance alone at $1381 costs more to keep than running costs and rego.

Got a pic of your zed? I would love to see some :) if its insured for that much, then it must be a very clean zed :)

I'm insured for 15k at the moment...I'm hoping to get it upto atleast 20k in a week or tao when i get my zed back from the panel shop...I'm with just car but the zed is my daily and i paid $2200 a year full comp

Lumley no longer want anything to do with imports. I used to be insured with them, but then they went and got nasty with premiums and value, basically saying they no longer insure imports, but because I'm a valued customer they will still do it for a premium. ie, corporate relations speak for "fuk off".

I just got a quote back from Just Cars without photos and papers they quote me agreed value 15K at $1220. Shannons is at agreed value 26k at $1381. Looks like I will stay with shannons.

That's pretty good that Shannon's haven't dropped the value of your zed every year..consider yourself lucky, I have the joy of fighting for my price every year (however for this year they didn't drop on me for some reason, thank goodness).

I'm insured for full comp $18,000 with a premium of $1208.20 for the year...for being a daily driver and a 26yo female :zlove:

Hi Kiff, Thats a super low quote, maybe its because you live in Tasmania, there would be no way you would pay that low figure living in sydney. Good luck that's a very good price
