8 years ago I began the search for a good 300ZX - back in 2002/'03 there were plenty to choose from but it took a while to find an honest car in excellent condition, drove like new, and had a good motor! The importer had actually selected this Zed for himself, personally, whilst in Japan and k's were genuine - backed by visual inspection. I have done approx 9,000 k's per annum since purchase.

Always serviced by Nissan guru - Gavin Wood, my Zed has been meticulously maintained mechanically, often driven hard and fast, but never thrashed. Gavin's tune for 15psi is safe and adequate boost for my needs. 2 weeks ago I did a 2000 km trip to southern NSW and back - never had to lift the bonnet and fuel economy was better than 10L/100K - I do not drive like a Granny!

The car has never had major accident damage although I just spent a few dollars having pin dents removed by a PDR specialist + front bar and stone-chipped guards resprayed. :zlove:

    Rob, Why are you selling?
Are you going to the dark side? (350/370z)

Lol... you could say I'm 'going to the dark side' but not in that way. I spend a lot of time in Thailand so it's pointless to leave the Zed sitting around for months on end. :zlove:

*well firstly* I'm actually shocked and surprised you're selling this beautiful example of a Zed Rob! WTF?! You know as well as i do that this is a keeper, you'll never get another one in this nick for those dollars mate?! (but i know you've got your reasons for selling)

Well, what can i say, i've known this Zed and it's Zed eccentric owner for probably 5 years now. Both i can vouch for as being solid pieces of work!
We all know Rob as one of the biggest Zed enthusiasts on this forum, as well as a reputable, honest and upstanding moderator of this forum. He looks after his own Zed as much as he does to all the other forum members Zeds that he helps work on.
If was buying a Zed right now, i would feel the utmost confidence in buying this car. Just buy - and drive. Everything else has been done.
If there's anything that isn't quite 110% on Rob's Zed - he fixes until it's back to 110% working order. Never "flogged" or "thrashed", and a fantastic base to work off if the new buyer wanted to extend to more power mods or body kits, etc...

I'll miss seeing Rob's head poking out of the window of this car on cruiZes, as it's a bit of an iconic Zed really. So i just hope it goes to a worthy new owner who will look after this Zed as well as it will look after it's new owner.

Sorry to see you sell this beautiful Zed Rob - I really am mate.
    End of an era. :(

thats big news...... and sad news...... sad to see you selling the zed...:(

I'm sure you've had a long hard think about it and decided this was the right thing.....

still......... its always painful watching one of the old crew sell their car...

Good luck on the sale and your future endeavors :)

    Cheers

Now on Carsales > HERE <

Whilst not an urgent sale I am negotiable - can always remove certain security devices, and a full mechanical inspection is welcome. Any questions by PM, please.

I will consider a trade, bunky, NA Zed, or TT requiring major mechanical work. Must be in original condition, no kitted-out boy racer or project cars please.

This is a bargain folks. I'm surprised it is still for sale.

Rob's zed is one of the good ones and well worth an inspection. Don't be tempted by the sub $10K offerings, Rob's zed has had all the hard work/preventative maintenance done by an obzessive, fussy owner.

Buying a known-good zed from a very well known forum member/moderator is good insurance. As an added incentive, I'll wager that if you buy it, Rob will show you his chicken legs.:)

To arrange inspection between 17th January & 28th January, please PM at least 2 days in advance as I am away from home. Zed remains in the garage, all alone. :(

Whoever buys this car gets a genuine bargain. Only seen a handful of Z's in immaculate conditions that are not heavily modified and this is one of them. I've also had the privilege to drive it and it is a dream. Very comfy and the boost comes on early and firm when you mash the pedal. Everything works in this car which is rare in one of 20 years old.

I've known Rob and his Z for the last six years and the condition of this car has been maintained to a shining standard the whole time. Hope it goes to a good home.

Thanks Karl. You haven't seen her since I had the paintwork touched up, looks A1+ now! :zlove: It's difficult to impart true 'condition' in an ad on Carsales when compared with other Zeds on offer, but inspection will reveal. Things like seat bolster wear at genuine k's compared with other recent imports advertised at *cough* lower k's, but with seat cover on drivers seat!!!

A more accurate measure of fuel consumption would be how many ks it did in those 6 weeks. :p

    K-zed Secret Squirrel

lol... now 7 weeks/523 km's and will not be going anywhere for another 3 weeks! Better to leave the tank near empty or the fuel would go stale ... although it would increase in value!:D:p
