can someone just confirm this for me.

    1) i understand from the battery, the positive cable runs straight down to the starter motor. there is only one cable that branches off this cable where it does a 90degree bend on the firewall. that branched off cable runs to a connector close by, whats this for?

is the positive cable connected to anything else or is that it?

    2) how is the alternator connected? i understand there is only one cable that is connected to the alternator where does this cable come from ?

    thanx

Have you checked the wiring diagram in the Service Manual, Tech section?

The branch after the 90 on the battery cable is the power feed for the entire car, this also has the alt charge wire connect to it in the harness inside the right hand guard.

If you are asking this to relocate your battery, simplest way is to run that cable down to the starter pos. Then a pos cable from the rear to the starter.

thanx what i am doing is running a cable from the batt in boot straight to the starter. then ill branch it off from starter to a distro box in the eng bay. this can branch off anything req power.

so that cable that branches off at the 90degree goes to a plug, then this plug continues the circuit to the fuse box? and the alternator? is that correct?

ill be doing this http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=p82xRzCr-lc .

    • so im wondering if i should just go batt to starter motor. then starter motor to distro box. then distro box to alternator, fuse box and wateva else power is req for. with this done i will remove all the stock wiring thats currently there (but need to double check there is nothing in the path of these cables?)
    • as above but leave the stock cable connected to the alternator, which is connected to that plug i asked about, which in turn will be connected to the distro box anyway
am i on the right track ?
