Ahoy, im considering buying a 300zx probably an import but i hear there are a few porbs with them. First i hear the clutch is pretty bad and tends to muck up alot. Secondly, i hear the turbos tend to come unstuck alot, and cause the owner alot of grief. One of my friends had one and said he spent more time fixing it than driving it. What do you think? lets have some positive testimonials eh???

    Thanx Buz :D

Unless you are able to do the work on it yourself,

you're most likely to need a fat wallet. They are by NO means cheap to run. As for clutches and turbos dying, that is highly exaggerated... actually we should have a poll to see just how many have had problems with turbos, I think it would be surprising.
There are Zeds and Zeds, you can never be sure what you're going to get, keeping in mind most are nearly 15 years old now. Personally mine has NEVER let me down on the road. But, I have rebuilt an engine and turbos after a spirited drive at Qld Raceway, and it still got me home even with a bent rod and a knock that you could hear in China.
The upside of it all is this forum, if you do have any problems, chances are between us and Twinturbo.net (U.S. Zeds), someone has been through the same thing.
The other thing to take into consideration is, that if your young (under 25) insurance will be a killer, and apart from that you'll prolly total it within the first 12 months :)

Just my two hundredths of a dollar.

There is a page, designed to answer your question.

Its located HERE and is VERY helpful.

Also, Look at the Polls at the bottom of that page, they are a VERY good indication on the average zed.

I've had mine six months (details in my profile of mods and the like, and pics) and other than things I have WANTED to do or change ... the only money spent was last week on new brake pads and disk machine on the front.... (NOTE TO SELF: the faster you drive the harder you use the brakes to stop)

    Hope this helps a little....
