zx electric aerial (fuse)

hi,could someone advise me if there is a fuse that controls the electric aerial.it is stuck half way up and as there is no sound of it trying to work,and im wondering if it has any power at all going to it,thanks

 

Have you got yourself a zed now, if so pics, no idea about the fuse thing

 

yeah,picked up the black beauty on saturday

Yes ,i picked it up saturday.Black,targa,manual,leather interior ..took a while looking but i found the perfect one in nearly new condition.I will post pics soon,im just organising a stereo,had the windows tinted today,new mags on wednesday,alarm thursday ,custom exhaust and a few other goodies over the next week or two,looking forward to going on a run with the guys/gals in a month or so, Si :zlove:

 

Nice work, best of luck with it, i would recommend looking at getting one of caz's conzult cables and a cheap laptop as you can find out lots of neat stuff with that. Does the ariel make any noise when the button is pressed may be faulty aeriel rather than the circuit, not too sure how they work as i dont have one on my car

 

AERIAL

There is no sound at all.it seems there may be no power going to it.I presumed they were wired to the stereo so when u turn it on it automatically goes up.I wasnt aware that there is a switch for it,i think i need to get a workshop manual.I will get the cable as you said,it could prove very handy,im gathering i will have to get the software as well.If you havent got an aerial,what r u using to get the radio reception ?

 

as i said i got no idea as i dont have one cos i have an aftermarket stereo and it has not been hooked up

 

The aerial is connected to power through the radio/headunit, and goes up when they are switched on.

thanks Chili,I will pull out the head unit now and check the wiring,failing that ,i think i will just buy a newy,who knows how old it could be !
