zweett has started her.. 0hp->500hp+ work last night

dunno if anyone botherd to read poor scotties WHY ME! misfortune continues thread.. but long story short.. he hydro locked his motor when he realised zeds do not swim.. (drove into deep puddle, deep enough to flood interior over door sills, pod relocated to 2" above bottom of front mount, engine chokes and stalls.. car pushed to side of the road where he proceeded to try to restart, who wouldnt.. and crank it over till she seized.. lesson for everyone! do not crank over engine that has injested water)

now i dunno if the starter has enough torque to squash a piston and seize it to the bores in a normal hydro lock situation.. maybe just the gallons of water hitting hot zweett pistons has warped em and seized em in.. we shall soon find out

    pics from last nights fun..

yet another WA eninge on me crane (none yet to be returned home)
scottie wanted me to photochop the crane out of the picture and make all the ladies think his buff (but i wouldnt coz he showed me he can bench press more than me)

obligatory engine bay shot (scotty styles, scuse my durry smoke.. quitting going well obviously)

scotty removing belts the only way he knows (ghetto bush mechanic styles)
    fan belts
    [IMG]
    timing belt
    [IMG]

those were special tools that he ordered from nissan beyond the black stump branch, bush mechanic division(timing belt remover and fan belt puller)

    now the fun bit

are you sure its hydro locked?
well the exhaust was full of water.. coulda gone in the other way though
i pulled the intake pipes off and threw water on adams head who was under the car undoing shite
then torch down the turbo intake hard pipes (ones bolted to compressor inlet)

    OUCH!
turbos themself will be fine as they;re a sealed unit.. and coming as a bargain to you all soon.. they came out of a 360hp zed!!!

this is a pic of water raining out of the upper plenum as we are undoing the egr pipes
    [IMG]

    and the peice de-resis-tance
lower plenum, full of water on cylinder 1 and 6 (those valves must be closed) which one of those 2 is the seized one?? shall we take bets.. it will be which ever one is on its compression stroke i bets

couldnt get the heads off last night as we snapped an allen key trying to get the last 2 bolts out (the ones that arent inside the cam covers so seize in there good.. left em soaking in WD)

scotty should also have pics of where he smahshed himself in the face with a breaker bar.. looks like his bin in a big fight!!.. haha

    Egg ....

    Might be lucky...

...I too think the starter motor isn't going to do huge damage. *fingers crossed*
Might just be full of water and no real damage :) don't think a starter motor would bend rods or damage the crank.

    yeah awsome!!!

Now the fun starts, stripping it down, buying parts it will be like x-mas.....

Didn?t take us that long to get the motor out, only a few hours, I was meant to do more prep work but never got around to it, only had taken the radiator/wiring harness out b for we started.

I got the fun job of working under the car, but because I have put my gbox on and off so many times 4 or 5?? I was the best man for the job. takes like 30mins ? or less to pull the box.

While the rest of the boy's hit the front AC/PS/ALT etc...

Cant wait to get it stripped. Sunday is the stripping day, the day I cry at how much damage... or not.

    Looking good guys!

Scotty saw your other post, pretty much the same as I am doing with my engine, looks like there will be a few 500hp zeds on here by the end of the year?

Saw you are looking at using UAS exhaust manifolds, I know lysergic is pretty wants a set as do I, we should look at trying to get a GB together if you're keen?
