Hi guys, I just found this place called "Z shop in Glen Iris". Has anyone ever brought stuff from them before? What are there prices like? They have a website at www.zshop.net.au but it dosent offer much.

z shop are not so much a parts supplier as a

mechanical workshop. they can supply some parts however, but you're probably better off going through ttzed.com or uas or concept z for parts.

as a workshop, i personally have not had a good experience with them , others seem happy however. all i can say is get a written quote before if you choose to get them to do any work.

I used the Z shop when I lived in Melbourne.

I found them to be great, the owner Lindsay is one of the most knowledgeable guys around. I personally think its the best Z32 workshop in Vic.

Also good for hard to find items.

Dealt with them for years now. Never been duped and Lindsay has....

always gone out of his way for me and many customers. Staff members also know their Zed stuff down to a T: Nick, Steve, Miyake (a perfectionist in every sense of the word) are excellent at what they do.

Cheap compared to others? I don't know coz I've never had a reason to go elsewhere. All I know is that I recently had cause to call another workshop and they charge $99/hr, whereas Lindsay in still in the $60s/hr. Moreover, if you need to know exactly what has been done to your car, he takes his time and has never started looking at his watch while he's doing it.

Personally, I've never met a better workshop (Nissan or otherwise).

You've got nothing to lose by giving Z Shop a call or visit and judge for yourself. I've never used other workshop, but I wouldn't bag 'em or sing their praises based on someone else's experience. I'd have to see for myself.

Good luck with whatever you decide and whomever you choose.

Same here - I used the Z shop extensively for my build up....

When I was living in Vic for a while, I had cause to visit/talk to 4 of the common Z specialists operating in the Melbourne area. Before I say anything more, I will make one point clear - I refuse to publicly denigrate any Z establishment unless they have really, really pissed me off - which has not happened. So do not ask who I judged to be unfavourable. I will however point out the establishment that suited me best - the Z shop.

With the backup of Lindsay and the crew ( Nick, Steve Bob - Hitec, Mr Miyaki - ex Scuderia etc...) I found there was no aspect of setting up a Zed that they could not provide expertise on. If people knew some of the big motorsport names that go walking into the Z shop to discuss car issues with Lindsay and the guys, they would think twice before running their mouth off saying they have no skill or experience in setting up a Z (or any other race car for that matter).

I have personally worked alongside Lindsay when called out to fix another raceteam's car for Phillip Island - They spent 1.5 days trying to get the car to run after a rebuild, before calling Lindsay in desperation. I happened to be on hand so we both went down to the team's workshop and we had it fixed in an hour or so. The fact that another professional raceteam called Lindsay in should hold testimony to Lindsay's reputation. Even Nissan in Oakleigh have had reason to call in Lindsay to get a Z32 moving again.......

I am not going to comment on anyone else's experience with the Z shop - I wasn't there so none of my business. But I will say that I have had perfect service in a professional manner from the Zshop - Highly recommend them.

    I own a Z with a Zed Shop history.....bought it 6mths ago

I live in SA so I've had no dealings with the place
I can tell you though that the car....a 2+2TT...had extensive work done there by a previous owner, and it runs like a dream! I've got the receipts for the work which now date back 2 years so I figure they must have known what they were doing

    cheers Andy. ?

    Z Shop is first class...>>

Have 5 Zeds plus a 180SX that have all had work done on them by Lindsay and other members of his team, can attest to the high standards that exist there.
