the last few weeks has been like christmas every day anyway.. todays post fairy brought my zemulator.. heres what it looks like pretty bland box, but it goes under the carpet.. soo meh not sure what the red thing is for.. downloading instructions now.. let you all know how it goes
Let us know How goes as I am interested. As in how easy to fit and tune and features you find etc Can't remember if you said if had individual inj driver control?
Very interested to see the results of this.. Might be an idea if it is you scope of course to see dyno comparissons. I have pondering on this option for sometime now.. I was waiting for someone else to either blow an engine or improve rwkw. if i can ask how much did it set you back?????
Dosn't allow individual inj tuning John, zemulator basically allows you to adjust the fuel and timing maps realtime and store the data on zemulator. You then either leave it connected or burn the values to a chip. It would, IMHO be an ideal investment for you to allow to tune stock ecu's. Your tuning business would increase dramatically if you can do it well.
http://www.twinturbo.net/net/viewmsg.aspx?forum=technical&msg_id=866544 a guy said that Microtech is better than zem cos it can do the following: -anti lag -launch control -nos timing -fuel and ignition timing -datalogging -3 bar option -wideband o2 tuning -injector trim and timing - boost options/control and then AshZ responded with: LOL, the ZEM does all of those except boost control, And I wouldnt' recommend boost control through an EMS - takes too long to adjust. So i'm wondering, does Zem do anti-lag and launch control?
The anti-lag system with MOTEC is the ones they use on rally cars. Pretty much you have an injector firing fuel into the exhaust manifold to spool up the turbo quicker. I don't think zemulator can work with auxillery outputs. Launch control?? Learn to drive champ. Can't do boost control, as it's still keeping the stock ecu and all it's inputs. And the z32 dosn't use the ecu to control boost.
Actually John, disregard that last statement of mine... you can't convert the zemulator files easily to *.bin files needed for burning a chip. I just read a thread where ASHLEY POWERS (zemulator creator) has just cut sick at some tuner for asking people how he could get around it. Part of the license agreement is end user only. BUT on the other hand it would offer a cheaper alternative to the microtech model, plus you get to keep all the stuff microtech cuts out.
you cannot have the same effect as launch control that an after market launch control can doo i dunno about the zem.. i have 50 pages of manual to read yet.. but i have a gizzmo electronic launch controller which can get me on full boost with the clutch in.. i dont see how a good driver can do that without bouncing off the rev limiter im not sure how the zem can do all of that.. its just the stock ecu with a romulator and break out box to chip into the MAF and CAS and plug the lot into a notebook.. ill get her running myself.. but final tune will be dyno time for sure im gunna try and convince hyperdrive to 'try new things' haha
Yes you can. You read the Zem rom contents with a Conzult cable. BIN file generated in seconds. Then you burn the chip to suit.
