Zeds Dead - Cranking But Not Priming

Alright so it has been 6 long months since I've driven my Zed. I took it apart with a friend to replace the broken gaskets and rooted radiator and probably gave it its first plenum pull. Anyway due to circumstances it took around 6 months to get back together but I am finally at the end and what do you know the engine cranks but doesn't prime.

I am out of ideas, checked everything, but still it won't get into 'prime' position. I suspect it may be something to do with the crank angle sensor.

Could someone please point me in a direction on what to check ? I have ordered a consultz cable but in the mean time would really like to get on top of this.

If someone is also in the near the area of Rowville / Dandenong or knows any local businesses that could work on my Zed I would be happy to get the car towed over just to get this issue solved and give the car a tune before getting it back on the road.

    More details needed.
    1. replace the broken gaskets - which gaskets?
    2. 'prime' position - what do you mean by this?
    3. the engine cranks - fully turns over, multiple cycles, but no start?

If you have done a plenum pull did you reconect the earth at the back of the plenum before trying to start it?
If that earth is not connected before starting the PTU could be fried.

Sounds like the CAS or fuel pump or fuel pump module?

    Try

Are your fuel lines on the right way?, check the fuel pump fuse, pull the fuel line and see if it does prime when ignition turned on.

James i would say take it down to Bryan as he can fix the issue and tune it aswell...but if you are after more local...down in Thomastown there is Nismo (not cheap), several local mechanics that ive dealt with...also my friend used to work as a mechanic and can ask him what he thinks, but he has never touched a zed :p lol

Msg me or give me a call if i can help in anyway :)

    Hey Guys,

I managed to get a video of the trouble : http://imageshack.us/clip/my-videos/193/4fe.mp4/

It still seems to have the issue. Checked CAS and TPS, tried also manually putting fuel in the cyl but no luck :(

I am still using a series 1 PTU, should I be worried ?

If anyone is in the local suburbs of Melb around Mulgrave and wants to come have a look I'd be more than happy to have you come over and I would even be willing to pay for your service.

    Hey Everyone,

Managed to get it started, but that isn't the end of my worries....

First start, I got it started for 10 seconds but noticed all this coolant flowing out into the engine bay from the below line : (well that is the line after I blocked it off)

After blocking it off I got it started again but I noticed that the car was automatically reving itself up and down to 5000 RPM. I turned it off and could hear dripping. I looked under the car and found at least a few L of oil under there :

I don't know where that bulk of oil is leaking from, quite scary !
