AUS ZedFest 2012, 6th-8th April

Update!

Things are progressing well with the venue. They are bending over backward for us in providing a trouble free and well supported weekend. Investigations are taking place into other venues for not only an alternative but the primary place for party central to achieve the best deal. I know there are some members who are very dollar conscious and we want to make this event as least taxing on the hip pocket as possible. But please understand that this event is every 2 years, you have over 12 months to prepare (and save) for it and the overall package will be focused on value for money, not the cheapest price.

Also wanted to advise that gmbrezzo has kindly offered his full support in delivering a top weekend for this momentous occasion. He lives in the general vicinity and has already scoped out items to place on the itinerary which look awesome. Armidale was a good event but I can already see that Dubbo is going to be not only a more fun filled event but quite possibly the biggest ZedFest yet! At this stage possibly 30 Z's at party central alone.

In the coming weeks, this thread will be closed and an official permanent thread will be posted with confirmed accommodation and itinerary details.

Sounds like fun

Although, the accomodation list is exhausted and at 00 I'll not lodge as a definite.

I'll be coming over from Tasmania on the Ferry so I lose a day in travel.

What day/s are the Melb people heading to Dubbo and is there a 'convoy' I can hook up with?

It's school holidays in Tasmania starting the 6th - 15th so this means I'll probably need to leave Tas on the night of the 5th and arrrive in Melb on the morning of the 6th!
I might be able to wing a few days off but will not know untill school starts 2012
(We teachers get enough days off so getting extra days off is not really encouraged) Hence, I might arrive on the morning of the 6th which is the first day of Zedfest.

I'm embarrased

I must say, I only saw this post now I tend to surf the forum quite quickly these days and must have missed this...

Judith and I (and little Anabel) might make the trip up. But 2012 is a long way off and of course we need to sort out accommodation. Any other recommendations for accommodation as it seems that the place where everyone is staying is full....

after discussion with another member today, looks like we may have a WA convoy heading to this zedfest, some of us has wanted to go for a while, and haven't had the time ro money previously... but should eb able to make next years one!!
