Well my automatic transmission, I am pretty sure needs a complete rebuild as I currently only have 1st and 3rd gears atm. I was intending to get it inspected by a auto specialist back in January of 2025 but that never happened because before I was planning to take it to the specialist, i wanted to investigate a strange grinding sound I was getting from the front brake calipers which after reseating the brake pads then turned into a complete brake bleeding nightmare with multiple days of brake bleeding the brake system about 12 times using both manual and vacuum bleeding process to find that no matter what we did I couldn't get a firm brake pedal feel.

After 2 months of scratching my head, I finally figured out that the issue was and thanks to mechanical inexperience almost 10 years ago I unintentionally put my front brake calipers on the wrong side without knowing it meaning that the bleeder valves are now located at bottom of the caliper instead of the top like it's surprise to be and that's why my brakes wouldn't bleed properly.

But in those 2 months of diagnosing the brakes, I had purchased a spare set of both rear and front brake calipers and a later model abs pump all in an attempt to not just replace my original parts on the car in an attempt to solve the problems to replace possible faulty parts. But to also try and learn how to pull apart and the rebuild all of the brake system components not just for a visual restoration of those parts but to also help me learn how to do a rebuild of those components which before was something I thought only mechanics could do and once I had learned the process I would then be capable of fix and or repair any part of the braking system myself in the future.

Current the car has been sitting on stands for nearly 8 months now and during that time, I have been waiting for parts to arrive from Japan and then I've began the process of learning how to pull apart all of my spare brake calipers which turns out, is not complicated to do as I thought and now I'm in the process of sandblasting and painting the calipers before I then rebuild all of them with new seals and put them back together again and put them correctly back on the car.

Once the brakes are fixed, I will then take the car to the auto specialists to be inspected and then rebuilt and once that's fixed then I can continue fixing and or upgraded some of the other parts I have waiting in the pipeline which if I'm luckily will all be done by the time the zedfeast is on.

Your 100% correct there alex, I was so afraid of touching anything on the braking system prior this event happening. But when I thought about it while I was diagnosing the problems I had with the brakes I just decided it's time to push my mechanical repairs knowledge and start pulling things apart and rebuilding them back together again. Once I get the gear of pulling something apart I will no longer fear the complexity of that component and be more capable of fixing that component myself in the future. I've already pulled about my Brake master cylinder, a pair of rear z32 brake calipers and a set of na front and later model TT brake calipers and it was so not as complicated as I thought it was and I can't wait to rebuild these parts in the coming weeks properly all the while learning more and more along the way.

I also am using this experience as a way of purchasing spare sets of mechanical parts that after I've rebuilt them I'll then have spare parts to install onto the car whenever the exisiting parts on the car wear out of fail, saving me stress, time and money in the future.
