I know that alot of you are aware of the great work that Mark (Zed4life) does with his Zedcare service but I wanted to help spread the word about him to any new members.

I recently took my zed down to his workshop in Wishart, QLD to get it checked over for one of his famous $99 Zedcare tune ups (clicky) and I have to say the service that he performed was exceptional.

Mark spent 2-3 hours checking absolutely everything on my car and fixed a handful of those little annoying things like my high idling problem. He checked all of the fuel lines and connectors, ran a whole plethora of checks using Conzult/NDS and ironed out all of the bugs. He even replaced a couple of connectors free of charge as they were getting corroded.

Not only did he fix the problems he also explained how and why each of the affected systems alter the cars performance and explained how to fix each and every one of them which is something you don't get at most workshops.

Today when I went down to visit him with a high idling problem he demonstrated how to correct the TPS should I ever decide to play with it again and offered his advice regarding the cooling system all free of charge.

All up I highly recommend Mark to anyone who is looking to get any form of maintenance done on their cars and I especially recommend his tune up sessions for anyone who wants to ensure their car is running 100%.

Thanks for fixing my baby up Mark and I'll defiantly be back! :bow2:

If Mark spent 2-3 hours plus another visit for only $99, he may not want too many customers. The more customers, the quicker he will go broke.

    C'mon pay the man properly

    Thanks Matt, appreciate that.

Re the $99 for three hours work. Those services typically take 1-1.5 hrs average or even less with additional work usually booked for the next / future visit. Occasionally the services take longer like Matt's and I decide to do them there and then, but that's my decision. Sometimes I charge more, sometimes I don't.

And generally we also get to talking about future mods / maitenance work and that can take some time. I like to think that if I do the right thing with new customers, be honest about what needs to be done asap and what can wait, give them options on how to get repairs done, that they'll be back for jobs like plenum pulls, ZIDs, electrical work, new mods etc when those needs arise etc etc.

My experience shows that to be true. At least 75% of my current work is repeat business and via recommendation. You have to remember, I don't have a commercial workshop with overheads, I'm picky with the cars I work on (only zeds) and the types of jobs I do.

Being a solo act, I don't take on too much work and farm out much of the major mechanical work to collegues. That way I can keep an eye on the quality of work being done, rather than being covered in grease 24/7

Keeping good reciprocal relationships with customers is important to me and I'm not just in it for the money (otherwise i would have set up a commercial workshop long ago).

But I do agree that it's an unsustainable hourly rate. I'll have to think about that...

I actually offered to pay today but he refused to accept it. I'm sure there will be something I can help him with in the future

Another great review on a great service that Mark offers. These people that offer these sorts of services and help are few and far between, particularly ones that you can truly trust. Great stuff again Mark, and an excellent write-up Tontsekz. :zlove:
