Time to Start the Progress and Future Progress Thread On my, slightly Sad (currently) 300 2 years ago, my Zed started life as a D1 Drift Look-a-like, Auto TT with no engine, and Stock.. Re-assembled the motor and got it running, but not without the help of Rollin. Spent several hours pealing the stickers off, and some paint, and is still in primer to this day.. New Cat back 2 1/2 Bent installed with hotdogs and rear mufflers About 3 months later the Auto box died so in went the Manual Conversion and rebuilt Drive shaft. recently, (last 6 months) Put in some Z1 SMICs Started Modifying a CRAP Bomex T2 knock off. It was intended to slightly modify it on purchasing it, but on delivery inspection revealed a rather pathetic product. Never got to chase that up... Today, installed my new TurboSmart "Kompact" Recirc BOVs To come, 18x8 18x9 waiting on tyres/Money of my Z money tree Finished Bar with Bomex side skirts Fiberglass under Tray, similar to UAS carbon kevlar one Steering column Mounted EBC Profec B II (Picks to come) A whole lot of interior rework And a few more mods in the works.. To Be Continued.... ....
was wodnering what happened to this car, and please tell me you stripped the interior out, it was vomit inducing
must be, sorry mate there was one for sale cheap as hell and the guy painted the interior green or something, thought it was this one
Yea must be another one, my interior is close to dead stock... there isnt much i believe you need to change, apart from something like a nice Tan and black leather refinish... mine just has all the vinyl falling off... havent done anything yet coz im torn between a cheaper vinyl recover, or to buy new OEM.. working out whether the cost is worth it.. mind you that money could go to the Tan/black upgrade...
Way ahead of ya... That i think will be my Gen2 build, strip and start again, like Chad_ even.. Engine will get attention soon too, but its not broken dont fix it is my outlook, for the motor, only coz its a daily.. Im pretty keen on Nialls build, 18 on stock rebuild with hypergears studs and steel head gaskets. I do love the spool time on the auto turbos, just not enough spool
N-Power Dumps and Testpipes installed this weekend Sounds awesome when the waste gate opens i can feel a difference in power and spool time... It is quite hard to get the drivers side dump off.. took 6hrs for the two top bolts with various Uni-joints and extensions.. in the end i used a Irwin Vise-lock socket.. worked a treat... Iv also been working on this for my Profec B II Column mounted, Thermo-formed 3mm plastic I think i have the hieght right, this is through the viewfinder at my seating position, and im quite short
thats cool u got them fitted. Did you have an drama with lining up the rear section or those mounts i added?
Yea the drivers side pipe is bent up slightly, so the flange doesnt line up, slight leak... but it can wait until i put cats in and it gets re-aligned.. It sounds F#%$ing awesome tho.. Im putting my EBC in soon, and i just want to get a GOOD educated guess at what boost i should run on a manual converted auto engine (auto Cams and Turbos), with all your common mods? Exhaust, Pod, Intercoolers, chip? I cant find a straight answer in searches
Looking for a good set of turbos, upgraded stock.. looking for 18psi happily on stock (factory) engine.. running 14.6psi on the Greddy ebc currently on stock auto turbos... i love the spool time, but need more power... Looking at arp studs, already have tristeel head gaskets and sufficiant supporting mods.. anyone got suggestions, keeping it stock-ish/upgraded?
FINALLY my zed is getting some tlc... Going into the "Lota Z Shop" for some love, modified Bomex T2 bar, bomex sides, some paint touch ups, KYB AGXs, new mandrel (welded) s/s dump (n-power) back, a few other cosmetics and a nice, well over due service and engine bay tidy up, only minor because the wifes car is priority (iv been promising to paint the civic for 3 years.. faded red sucks) BUT Then ill start looking at the motor a bit more closely Iv had the new wheels for a while (below) and a few members might recognise the rat rod from around town (so nicknamed by work mates) its time for some love, so i can go on cruises not embarrassed by the other perfect examples out there, Heres the wheels, 8s and 9s bought for $400 off a G35, not exactly what i wanted, but for that price i cant complain
