Ecu requires a minimum of 9.6v to fire the coils and injectors effectively. Starter will still produce enough cranking speed at 10v.
Have checked cranking Volts, over 10. Have checked all fuses, still dont know if the red led in ecu is meant to be on whenever ign is on.
Yes. This is a feature of the ECU- if you key IGN ON, then rotate the screw fully one way then back, it will flash the error codes. This LED also indicates power to the ECU. Steve, in the Factory Service manual, check out section EL (electrical) pages 126-127. this is the engine room harness layout. Go thru this one by one and check that each connector is OK. Is your IGN relay still clicking on? When I get my emissions problems sorted out with my own Z, I'll come around and we can go thru the whole thing properly.
