It will be really good idea to give it a go. Though jump start cable should supply 12v if it was supplied from another car. I would run external power supply to the fuel pump (forget about FPCU) to make sure enough fuel has been delivered.

Aidan, you don't need to do this. The FPCU bypass I explained to you, and which is in my write up provides power without going through the FPCU. And you don't want to muck about with floating returns and all that crap, especially because you are near the fuel tank and fumes.

so what was the reason u had to clean the tank at the first place??

and now that u manage to start the car

what sort of improvement u experience? fuel economy, better performance?

It was misfiring and basically dying. Drive along, and suddenly engine stops.

I fixed it by using injector cleaner, but as was apparent on the cruise and a few days later, it was a temporary fix.

100% certain it was fuel related so thought stuff it, I'll get rid of anything in the fuel that could cause an issue.

It actually manifested itself after I fuelled up with 95 RON at a local servo that I will now not go to.

As for what differences.. I drove from my place to Mandurah and back (60 Km's), then to Aidans and back (15 Km's) without any issues.

Now to fix my vacuum(?) leak and she should be much better.
