Need new front tyres. Checking what is out there for good value for money. bought Nexen 3000 before and want to try something else. Probably pirelli or dunlop. Looking for some advice and place to go for them. Which tyres do you recommend for front?
I've just recently replaced my NEXEN N3000's with N6000's. So far they seem like an improvement in the dry(and a major improvement in the wet, as they have excellent tread drainage).

Doesn't your car have a shit load of power?? I don't think you can go past KU36 or RSR's for cost vs performance, might wear fast but the grip is impressive. I'll never have a lesser tyre on the zed.
Yeah get something good, seems pretty strange to dump so much coin into an engine build that's gunna put out stupid power and then cheap out on tyres... KU36, RE11, Dunlop Direzza Star Specs, Adrenalin's or Azenis.
N6000 was in my list, but last wheel alignment place mentioned they are no good at all. Want to try something else. may be Ku31. But $700 for front set from local supplier, ouch...

I've got the Maxxis ma-z1s on the rear now, really nice tyres.. With your Planned power output you may need the ku36s though... Paid just under $200/ea fitted for the ma-z1s. Give booragoon tyre service a ring on 9330 4377. Guys there all seemed to know their stuff and were quite helpful and friendly.
You are correct. Don't want to go for cheapies this time, but worth asking what everyone is using. I have decided either KU31 or KU36. Any idea what are the pro/cons between them?
KU-33's are working alright for me. I only got them on the front at the moment, but they are grippy as fk (not that id notice with em being on the front lol) If you want some pretty cheap tires go to 'Tires and More' on yirrigan drive, Mirrabooka. Its the big blue building. The guy there gave me KU33's at the price of KU31's (i saved about $150) and the alignment is pretty cheap too.
I believe the difference between the w and y tyres is the speed rating they most likely have a different steel belt construction. I'm no tyre expert but the main difference between ku31 and ku36 is stiffer sidewalls and a softer rubber compound, the tread pattern is different as well in such a way that it doesn't destort as much while its under load/cornering etc. The 36's might not be as good as the 31's in the wet though as they have less drainage grooves especially when they are cold, but I'm sure they would be ok after 5mins of driving if they are anything like the RSR's. Something to think about anyway.
check out option one garage as mentioned they do good deals on both ku36 and the federal RSR's. My set was less than 1k fitted in 17's.
After several years of using N3000's without any misgivings whatsoever, I have recently bought a full set of N6000's(due to there being no more stock of the N3000's). A FULL set of 18" N6000's cost me $790 delivered to my door[www.thewheeldeal.com.au](hardly excessive by most standards). N6000's have a softer(stickier)compound than the N3000's, and a much better water dispersal capability. With respect, I think your "wheel alignment place" has no idea what they are talking about with regards to tyres.
