[VIC] new freeway cruise

so what time we meeting up and where?
and whats the plan? im kinda confused now

 

re parking etc and arrangments

peter have rung melb museum, they tell me car park will be open. also traffic lights maybe a problem but there is alot of wide areas just before the start of the freeway, that we can bunch up behind each other before the hoddle st overpass that time of the morning should not pose to many problems. finding parking in clifton hill for over twenty cars maybe hard to find at least everyone knows the museum exhibition car park. we will meet in the museum car park on the nicholson st entrance side anytime after nine am onwards ,and leave no later than 10 am. how does that sound is everyone happy with that to keep it simple. i have booked our own area at the old bank cafe cnr main st and the esplanade mornington for around 11.30 am for a break and coffee. and la porchettas in sorrento for lunch for 1.30 approx for around 20to 25 people. not sure if more or less are coming at this stage. i thought it better for the social side of the cruise if we can stay and eat together rather than everyone go there own way to eat. will post the route etc by friday please post your thoughts if you are going if you wish to add anything. regards bigmax :thumbup:

everyone will get a simple map when we meet at the starting point. start at carlton finish at car park at point nepean national park portsea. map will show car parking areas at sorrento and mornington. bring your cameras please so we can post them on the forum. any questions please feel free to ask them. try not to complicate everything, it could lead to confusing others that are new and have not been on a cruise before. cheers bigmax

 

well we r going on the new section of the freeway we could all meet up near the sprinvale road entrance i no of a bball stadium just up the road from it n it has a big car park area we could all me there that we miss all the traffic n we can start for the new section

thanks for your input theo, but there are people coming from all parts of melbourne including western region. most of us know where the museum is in carlton and will be easy to find for most. plus we want to cruise the whole freeway just for the fun of it a convoy of zeds looks great at anytime.cheers bigmax :zlove: ps i live just near the stadium you are talking about and it would have been a good meeting point perfect for me.

times a route for eastlink frway cruise

just thought i would let everyone know the the route we are taking and the times for stops in case a few people want to join the cruise they may be late or want to join us if they change there minds and want to jump on board on the day

firstly please be at the meeting point at 9.30am for a quick briefing before we go we will leave at 10am on time regardless of late comers please respect others that get there on time and have to wait for you and throw all the times out for meeting points hope you understand.

meeting point is macdonalds clifton hill cnr heidelberg and queens parade map44 D1

then left onto heidelberg rd then left into wellington st to alexander parade then left staight onto eastlink freeway follow to end of eastlink to frankston freeway to frankston

then at the end of freeway turn right into cranbourne rd then right into davey st then left at nepean hwy map102 D3

along nepean hwy to main st turn right through mornington shopping centre to the end of main st to the esplanade map104 D10

we stop at the old bank cafe on the corner of the esplanade and main st mornington i have booked a area there just for us at 11.30 am approx just say you are part of the 300zx association leave there at about 12.15 pm 12.30 there is parking along snapper point drive or along the forshore or were ever you can get it depends on the day.

then continue along the esplanade then it becomes marine drive map 150 D9 then onto point nepean rd map159 K4 to sorrento ocean beach rd is the main st then lunch at la porchetta across the road from the continental hotel have booked area for us at 1.30pm then leave there at say around 2.30 2.45 pm map 157 A7

parking a plenty if you turn right at george st then hurley st just after la porchetta

then turn back to melbourne then turn left on to point nepean rd through portsea to point nepean national park car park there is coffee etc there i believe maybe a photo shoot if some guys want to then leave for home on our choosing then head back along mornington peninsula freeway to frankston freeway back onto eastlink

many will branch off on the way back depends where they live some including myself will come back along eastlink towards home

hope thats simple enough i dont think the route is rocket scientist stuff and most have been down cruising down there before and i have tryed not to be an organising freak but please bare with me but there could be 20 or more zeds so hopefully all goes smooth best plans dont always work out with everyone help things may go smoothly fingers crossed

please any questions will be covered at the 9.30am meeting point there is a few other things that need to be gone over to make things run as smooth as possible the main thing is we have a good cruise drive hard drive safe cheers bigmax :thumbup:

no etag required as the first month is free you only need worry about the cost of the speed cameras but those are something you can control speeding is not an option on the first day there could be a big police presents or they may cut a bit of slack the first day or they could have the arsehole squad on duty who knows on the freeway tred softly young man regards bigmax

might have to peel off at ringwood exit as i have work at 2 but we shal see.

who is up for vic frway cruise

looks like the weather will be ok at this point long range forcast looks good.
would help me to know final starters for sunday. there could be 15 to twenty cars, but if each person brings someone numbers could double. and i need to ring the places that i have arranged for lunch and coffee.

if you are coming solo let me know if your bringing a friend or partner great at least i can judge numbers it would help me alot

if you have some non zed guys coming in there cars let me know also but try not to invite just anyone then the numbers will blow right out and the zed guys come first for lunch etc
