James i think the supplier gave you one good one for each bad one!

Because everyone is receiving one good one and one bad and looks like its used and doesnt hold pressure.

Dude can we send it back for a working one...??

I've emailed the supplier. Just got to wait and see what they say.

    Who has installed them??

1 of mine were leaking but ran fine while in the zed.

    Mine ARE working!!!..

had 2 find new circlips as the ones that came with them are to big!, 1 and 3 quarter Inch exhaust pipe ramed into the adaptors with a big hammer and a block of wood to avoid damaging the metal, seled the joint with bog sanded and painted.

No leaks and a whole lot of PSHHHHH, I am glad I could get mine working after pointing out the problem that is causing a few headaches. :p

So there is some hope that not all of the BOVs are shit!.

James, one of mine leaks no matter what i do!!!

I have a longer bolt in the end, have taken it apart and cleaned it up etc... but it still leaks bad!
Is there a chance faulty one's can be sent back in exchange for another? The other valve is fine.

Bench tested my BOVs just now

One holds 20psi and appears to seal OK.
The other isn't worth a pinch of shit. It leaks and flutters (even with extra load on the spring)

    Email sent.

Re: any tips on how to benchtest them?

    Items needed -
    1. Compressor with low pressure take-off
    2. Air nozzle
    3. Blanking plate with hole to suit air nozzle
    4. 2x vicegrips or similar
    5. O-ring from kit
    6. BOV
    7. Soapy water in squirt bottle
    [IMG]

Connect as per pics (O-ring between BOV & blanking plate)

Set air pressure thru nozzle at various settings between 0-20psi. Pressurise BOV and spray soapy water on valve seat to check for leaks (soap bubbles)

Run a length of vacuum line out of a point in the Zed & connect to BOV to test the opening of the BOV under vacuum.

    thanks for the write up

i just tried blowing on mine with my mouth, and one of them leaks just at that pressure!

i hv no idea how much psi my cheeks can push, but i doubt it's anything like what my manual boost controller is going to be pushing out

the leak was coming out of the front, the seat thing where the mercedes symbol is

the other one passed the "mouth-blow" test, just like what everyone else has been experiencing - 1 good one and 1 bs one
(although even my good one hasn't been tested properly yet)

Re: thanks for the write up

just a note even a bov passes the mouth-blow test it doesn't mean it will hold pressure while it's installed while the engine is running. i didn't pressure test mine, just installed them straight away and tested. modified then tested again. mine eventually will hold during idle but won't hold recovering from high rpm, therefore the stalling.

Re: thanks for the write up

what i did, was install them and then put a legth of 6mm hose into the end of the bov (fits well in the 'mercedes sign' and the other in my ear hole.. they should not open under idle (no matter how tight i did the bolt, even replaced it with a longer one which bound the spring with still no joy)

but.. they should also not open under light/no load throttle lifts, they should be adjustable enough to open only under a fast throttle lift from say 4PSI

the second bov, passed the first test, but just sitting and revving my car in the garage with no load would still cause the bov to open and suck in masses of air under vacuum. meaning shite springs on the second and pile of crap seating on the first

now, i wouldnt be putting a replacement in if james manages to get the supplier on the other side of the world to cough up.. because if they arent manufactured well enough to hold idle pressure, what makes you think they will last with many thousands of cycles of opening and closing?

Still waiting for a reply from the supplier.

Me being a their person and not dealing with the factory direct might make a refund a lil hard:wacko::wacko:

    Lets hope for the best.
