Thanks heaps to everyone that came today.

    Major thanks to:
    Heuy for engine crane
Aiden, Andy, and Ross for all working like trojens
Michelle, emit, and norm for moral support :)

Long day and besides those loose head bolts, odd that the gaskets looked fine...............................

    Anyway.............

Parts list will be evaluated and I'll work with Simon to get what he needs ordered, and see what we can put back together once parts arrive.

Thanks again everyone especially those that traveled so far to help out a total stranger. Simon was stoked and I think even slightly tearful at the end.

Of course that could be coz his zed is in 10000 parts right now. ;)

    Stay tuned.

was a good day with plenty accomplished. Slept really well last night  think I must be getting old :(
will have a look at my bolt selection and see what sort of stuff I can bring that would be helpful for next time.

If anyone has a time machine maybe we could go back to the start of yesterday and just do a plenum pull, tighten those head bolts, and replace a couple of hoses lol

heres hoping that the work weve done helps.

i think the car would have made the junkyard soon if we couldnt help him out......

Junk yard wasn't an option given the car is in good nick.

He may have sold it stupid cheap in"current condition" telling the buyer that it needed a head gasket job.

As we seem to have established that wasn't the issue, I for one am glad he didn't.

Once he suspected that the car had issues, based on the diagnosis of HG and the topping up of the rad each trip, Simon did the right thing and refused to drive it anymore.

The car has never overheated, and neither the coolent or oil showed signs of mixing. None.

Way too good a zed for the scrap heap.

true, the car is in way to good condition to scrap.

i simply meant that with simons current situation, the car sadly may have ended up being sold off or similar

As stated in the EXPRESSION OF INTEREST thread, due to his personal situation, he will probably end up selling it. :( :zlove:

Being the car he's loved (this is his second) and as he's looked after it, he could neither bare to sell it cheap "as is" (when HG was suspected), or afford to fix it.

I was careful to make that clear in the EXPRESSION OF INTEREST as I dont want people thinking "that's a cheek. we fixed it and now he's selling". :zlove:

Edit: Dear admins....turn off whatever sensors the term E......O.......I before I go MENTAL lol.
