Hey everyone, I've been on a bit of a hiatus for about 10 years after writing off my old Z.... Sad times. But I've now found a new project car (1990 NA auto 2 seat) for a bit of an out of the ordinary build! Now I know a lot of peeps disagree with the idea of a blown VG30DE, as a TT swap is easier and will net more HP......... But aren't you just curious? I know I am! And really, I'm aiming for unique...... and a little bit of badass. The initial build will run relatively low boost of about 4-5psi on the stock NA motor - When I cook that I'll do a low comp build and up the boost to a respectable level. The charger is an Eaton M90 and I'm custom fabricating a new manifold/plenum that will sit atop the original valley manifold. The fan will be replaced with a thermo and a drive pulley mounted in place of the fan (And a probably upgrade of the belt to take the additional load) So I'll post photos as the build progresses, at the moment I've stripped the interior to mostly clean and repair a lot of wiring, broken trims, install a stereo etc before all the interior goes back in and also removed the rear hatch, glass (That took about 8hrs with a stanley knife and assortment of cheap kitchen knives!!) to do a rust repair around the glass. It's been welded back up, shaped and treated with phosphoric acid to kill the remaining rust and will be puttied and undercoat in the next week or two. The plenum is getting pulled this week to take measurements and start fabricating the new manifold to mount the blower - Should be some great pics coming up when that happens! I'll also be looking for some tech advice here and there if people can help. Cheers!
