ok, so i'm organising to get a new rolling shell to keep my in a zed. hopefully i can organise a good price on the transport side of things and have the shell in about 2 weeks. i have an N/A aus spec i need to strip down to nothing, i've taken the front end panels off but thats it. i will need to take out: -engine -gearbox -rear subframe -hatch/tailgate -dash -loom thats the important stuff i need out, the rest of the gear can/will be stripped out once i have the shell and i know whats needed/not needed. i'm looking at doing this next weekend (13th/14th june), i dont have good tools, just the cheapy shit that has got me by, so if you can come round, bring any tools you think we will need and i will be a good host and provide food (real italian pizza...lol) and beverages( most likely TEDS) can anyone come round and give me a hand?
Picked a bad weekend For it with a track day (Oran Park) on the 12th and a Sydney cruise on the 14th can't see you getting much help with it, I normaly help out at these days, but its a long way south for Sydney people to travel .
I agree with Wiz, not a good weekend mate, but i'll see how I feel on saturday. I was thinking of going to the dyno day in Canberra that day but not sure I want the drive after all day at Oran park on Friday. Ben
If i was you, I wouldnt pull any of the existing car apart till you get the new shell and have both sitting side by side. I have done pretty much what you are planning and it isnt an easy task. In fact remembering where everything goes is a major task. rethink doing this until you have the new car in your hot little hands. Then unbolt and rebolt each part in the same day or in careful stages.
thanks for the advice tektrader... ok, things have changed! i've decided to part out the car instead, i'm leaving to re-enlist in the army in july and after looking into getting the shell, finding a workshop to put in the engine, gearbox, diff and get it driving and then the work on my part to finish it off it is just not worth the hassle. so, i'm going to need some help getting the major parts out of the zed. engine gearbox (i already have a buyer lined up for this and would like this out ASAP) Diff loom and the dash as per Original Post i will be a good host and provide food and beverages for those who can help and will most likely do it the weekend after (20th/21st june)
