I seem to remember I have seen water bags instead of water bottles, but I cant remember what cars had them.

    That could work ;)

In other news, took it for a drive around the block the other day. Got a massive leak somewhere as it was only boosting to ~12psi, and was spluttering at load. Got it home, gave it a bit of a rev and then it stalled and died, dash lights out, smoke from drivers side underbonnet.

Needless to say I had a heart attack.

Attempted to open the bonnet. ****! When I had the front all apart to relocate the oil cooler, the bonnet cable had come off it's catch.

    So I had to:

    1. Push it up ramps to get it on the hoist (front is slightly too low to go straight onto the hoist)

    2. Pull the front apart again to jimmy the bonnet latch from underneath

    3. work out WTF happened

Fuseable link was toast. Fearing the worst (all electrics fried) I double checked all cabling. After blowing another fuseable link, I removed altenator harness and it fired up so I knew that's where the problem was.

Some of the insulation for the alt power cable was a bit worn and I suspected that it was touching the body (of alt). So heat shrinked and reconnected everything and seems to have escaped any other electrical damage. Still confused as to why I managed to go for a few kms before it blew.

Going to have a busy evening doing more boost leak testing and again putting it all back together, if I am going to be able to take the zed to the tech day.

Seems to be going ok now, although I suspect the next action will be a painfull process of elimination, boost until a coupler pops off, fix and tighten. Rinse and repeat. Did 1 last test drive, limp home. Did another on the 1 test I took just before. The street will be impressed.

Seems to running ok now. No more couplers popping off at 1.5bar, although I am pretty sure I still have some vac and boost leaks.

picked up new shoes this morning. Gram lights 57fpro, 2 piece, forged. Very light at about 9.5kgs for 18x10. Specs are 18x9+37 and 18x10 +40. Shooting for max rubber on the back with these offsets ;)

2 are in near perfect condition with the other 2 needing a bit of rash cleaned up. Overall pretty happy ;)

Hey Mike, got to thank you for an awesome ride in the Silver Bullit. I never would have thought you could get that sort of power from a non race car. Just loved it

Grab lights are nice wheels and looks like you picked up some good offsets. So glad you're not "stance"-ing it!

Yeah not stancing it. Why ruin the handling after all the quality bits are already attached ;)

Gram lights are go! 18x10+40 are perfect offset on rear without rolled guards. 295s will need guards rolled me thinks.
Continuing with the stupid light theme, finally got to use my 22g Work nuts. Wasnt sure if the red would work at first, but they are growing on me.

Spent this morning at QR with some SAU and QLD EVO people for Happy Laps. Was good fun.

Had planned on a few more upgrades and tidy ups prior, but ran out of time and thought it best not to rush them

Finished mostly unscathed bar another hose clamp. Definitely induced a boost leak as it was bleeding off a few psi on full noise. Still surprised alot of cars ;)

Time for another BLT. After plenum pull to swap plenums (purely for throttle body upgrade), and HKS DLI install.

Then a full tune, and then hp gains will be done for the near future.

After that it is time for a couple of cosmetic mods, with some skirts (choice of TBO or gracer) and my other bonnet (so everything is proper legal) to be painted, and my new wheels refinished.
