Actually no, whenever i've gone on a big club event there has been a nationals shirt...I've got the stubby holder, lanyard, and stickers for my car. Guess its time for a shirt also. Just hope there are some left over from that GB...

 

Stupid question for you guys...
I was filling out the entry form, and does the $100 cover the 2 dinners and displaying the car to be judged? It doesn't really specify, but I'm assuming it does

Time to start working on our display. This will only look good if everyone puts some effort in. Are we still all happy to go with the Halloween theme?

I'm trying to source some toy rubber bats and some other nasty looking things to put on the car... will have to visit some toy shops....

not so keen on the dress up thing though.. I know you are pete, but I'm happy just to dress up the car rather than myself..

 

I'm more than happy to go with Halloween..I went to spotlight the other day and there are a few things, but not a lot..but I'm thinking they will start bringing stuff in now cause its October..

I'm gonna buy a couple of BIG black hairy spiders from there..hehehe

Well I've just stocked up on Halloween stuff..so I hope we're going with this theme still...unfortunately there was only 1 black spider left..and the lady said they wont be getting any more Halloween stuff in...which is weird cause last year they had stacks of stuff...

 

We just stocked up too. Got the last big black spider as well. Got a couple of window banners and some other bits and pieces.

Renee, the last few years there has not been a theme. The last one I think was a Christmas theme, but I wasnt there for that one...

Peter - how much did you pay for the black spider? Cause when I first went I thought they were like $13 or something, and this time when I went there was no price tag..and the lady said she sold one the day before for $3.99...so I wasn't complaining hahahah...score..

 

You got your spider really cheap. We had to pay the full price which was $12.99.

We just went and got some more stock from Toys R Us in Franga...they had big spiddies that were $14, heaps of other bits and pieces and the tomb stones. So try there first...

 

Ok got some questions..

1. How are you guys planning on decorating the zed with Halloween decorations? I don't want the zed looking too tacky looking lol, or are you just buying stuff to go on the ground around the zed?...

2. I assume we aren't dressing up....either way I still bought a witches hat lol

3. I take it we are all leaving on Thurs the 22nd of Oct? If so what time will you be arriving in Bendigo? And where should I meet you guys? KR4USY will be staying at Craig and my place on Weds night..so we'll meet you guys where ever it suits..

My take on this - after an engine rebuild my budget for Halloweeny sort of stuff is negligible. I have bought a pack of balloons and a couple of small cheapie light up pumpkins. No spiders, masks, bats etc etc for me.

I am not interested in dressing myself up, nor in making the Z look "tacky", but there may be something I will find that takes my fancy. If I get time I may buy a pumpkin or 2 and try carving a face in one ...

One thing I am doing is making my "spec sheet" for the Z Halloween oriented. I've downloaded a Halloween style font to use, and found a few spider/web type graphics to use. I plan to use the top graphic on the forum as a header on a word document as well. If anyone else wants the Halloween font to do something similar, send an email to mfortescue@ventureglobal-au.biz and I will bounce it back to you, or download it yourself from http://www.halloweenfonts.com/H0Ll29y6An/fonts-s.html; the one I am using is "Shlop". Now I just have to find some orange A4/A3 paper .

I can't believe how serious the Yanks take this - with some more budget and time something really good could be done - black lights, smoke machines, posable skeletons, fabrics, it goes on and on!

Also, I am not likely to be travelling with you lot. I will be working on Thursday, whether I drive up Thursday night or Friday is yet to be decided.
