I have done a search, but cannot find the exact answer. What is the widest tyre size you can fit on the rear of a TT Z? Also anyone know the widest on the front without scrubing when turning.
More than you think I run 305 slicks and 295 road tyres. With the right rim width and offset and camber you could run more than 305 even, although not much. I don't know what is the next jump in size. If there was a 315 it could fit maybe even 320 if there were a tyre, but would need 11 inch rim and 2 degrees neg and rolled guards and there is more room on the inside than the outside which is clost fit on my car anyway. So would need to be a lower offset like around a 42 offset at a guess.
You run this on race or on road? 305 rear and 295 front sounds good. And you run this on stock zed? No modified spacers or anything under the wheel arch, apart from the matching rim of course.
i have 275/40/17 rear:YDand a 245/45/17 on the front and thats about all you would want as its right out to the edge of the guards
Hope you are luckier than me Those sizes are well out of the +15mm range from the largest stock tyres diameter. I got defected for this (among other things) and the tyres in the size needed (with 18s) to make it legal are damn expensive.
Tyre placard? What tyre sizes are on your tyre placard? These are what the +-15mm will be based on.Also, some tyres are different to their mathematically calulcated sidewall height, etc. You may need tyre manufacturer specs to back this up.
sizes the largest tyre on the placard is a 245/45R16 which has a 630mm OD. A 275/40R17 has an OD of 652mm. I had 245/40R18 & 275/35R18 which were 653mm & 650mm respectively.
Stillen relaeased a special. With wider 17's... think this can be used as a referrence point to go wider.
