Qld -16/08/09 - American Pie Cruise

We have an American visiting us over the next two weekends, so I can think of no finer way than to give him a taste of Australia with some fast twists and turns through the mountains, doing the Duey cruise in reverse, finishing up with lunch at St Bernards.

Black Baz will be in control of the directions, but it is basically: down the M1 to currumbin ... right at currumbin and take the Tomewin road through to Murwillimbah ... coffee at M/bah .... then back to the canefields turn off which takes us along the Caldera road towards Nerang ... short of Nerang, take the turn off to Mt Tambourine ... around the back of Tambourine towards Canungra .. but before Canungra turn up the mountain road (gorge) to Tambourine for lunch at the St Bernard ...

Meet point: 9.45am at the GCCC for a 10.00am start. Don't forget your uhf's.

hi guys and gals .... let's make this a good one for Maree's American mate ....

it has a bit of everything ... a freeway run followed by some u-beaut twisties and into the canefield flats ....a bit more climbing up the Caldera followed by a good run around the base of Tambourine till we dash up the gorge to a great lunch at a favourite spot, the St Bernard .. mit "oysters kilpatrick" ..whooppeeee ...!!!

EDIT: and an improvement ... morning tea (??) at the "tumbulgum tavern" will replace the Murwillimbah stopover ... to give our guest a taste of a real aussie country pub ....

.... that you simply cannot get out of bed early enough to make a cruiZe you have often missed out on in the past

I could possibly be in. Subframe should be finished and installed by then. Its been a while since Ive been on a cruise.

 

I was going to come, but then I remembered I was going to fit a trans cooler for the new auto before enjoying any more lengthy spirited driving... and I still haven't bought one yet, let alone fitted it!

 

well then, Kiz .. jump on board ... join us ..!!!

 

You and me both. I haven't taken the TT on a cruise yet, just need one in the afternoon so I can take my girl along too.
