We had to change some things on the motor to make suitable for road car use. Such as the intakes to clear the air con compressor and rear heater hose pipes. Yes it will be another tough zed to leave the UAS stables. Rob260 nearly ready to go, with even more mods.

So that is your car? Lots of things i like about it but man you've got to rethink the airbrushing!!

can you give me some more info on the cam gears you're using? They look like modified exhaust cam gears for the intakes. I suppose you've modified the front snout portion of the cams to adopt the install ques of the exhaust cam gears.

Yeah definately four exhasut cams and four exhaust gears.

Exhaust cams are shorter and lighter I believe....?

are these aftermarket exhaust cams being used or both stocks being mix matched? Any info on duration/lift of the profiles? Just curious as to why the choice on two exhaust cams. My guess is the function of obtaining a cheaper adjustable cam gear?

Inlet cams are hollow and therefore weaker, the exh cams are actually heavier.

As far as I know John used the exh cams for the strength - possibly for the better mounting system for the cam gears. I have seen a dowel so close to shearing off on the end of a high lift cam ... scary stuff

I've seen them shear off a few times on the end of stock cams

I like the idea of using 2 sets of exhaust cams though, very clever :D

I had heard of using exh cams as inlet cams for a while, but never really thought too much about it.

You would be doing well if you needed stronger cams in your build. Bigger cams, yes... but stronger?

If shearing the pins off is an issue. Buy tool steel pins  or add a second one opposite the first.

The inlet gears are not much more expensive than the exhaust gears.

I have Tomei inlet gears to use on mine got to find some exhaust gears yet.

well intake/exhaust doesn't really matter to me but I'm interested to know the profile in which those exhaust cams he's using. Whats the overlap and where did the cams get installed at? 113-115-???

They are reground factory cams, no idea of the specs.
