WA Parting out complete Z

Hi all,

Listing a 300ZX TT 2 seater for sale... 135,xxx Kms Auto

Suitable for parts only IMHO.

It had been run off the road a few years ago and into some scrub. Most of the exterior panels are dented. No targa panels. It was deemed an unecononical write-off by the insurance company.

The car appears to be complete tho. Any parts that have been taken off are in the boot. I had purchased this car to strip for parts but just dont have the time... And it was a bit of an impulse buy.

Has 18" rims, Hybrid 2 stage boost controller, Aluminium radiator, Razo gear knob, 2.5 inch exhaust... Engine appears to be in good condition. Generally needs a good service. (Has been off the road for approx 3 years mind you.)

The gearbox is leaking from somewhere. Havent actually had a good look but the previous owner reckons it was coming from the oil pan at the bottom of the transmission. The oil pan is dented and is probably the culprit for the leak.
The leak is bad tho. You cant even fill it up without it spewing out... So i've been told. I never actually tried.

I'm sure someone who has enough experience with stripping cars could make some money from this thing. Headlights, Tailights, Fog lights, reflectors, Interior panels all seem to be in good nick. Comes with a brand new windscreen too! Not fitted. The previous owner was going to fix it up! Waaay too much work for that tho.

Will have to be picked up with a car trailer from Rockingham...

The engine alone should fetch the majority of the asking price.

Asking $2000 firm. Feedback welcome but i think this is pretty fair. Would be great for someone chasing an engine and could part the rest out and make back some $$$ too.

does it run, does it drive?

what year is it?

is the interior water damaged at all, have you stored it under cover or in the open?

rims are scratched/gutter rashed i assume?

sorry for all the questions, but hey, you wanna sell i wanna buy so.....lol

The car runs. I started it up this morning. Few coughs and splutters but it hasnt been started for about a year now i think. Gotta get some more fuel for it too as the fuel in there is stale as. Should be right as rain with some new plugs and new fuel. Might change the oil today too. - Not driveable tho... If someone is mechanically minded tho, we could get under the car and see where the transmission is leaking from, whack some transmission fluid in it and it should drive... Hopefully - no windscreen tho - have one brand new but not fitted...

The rims are all good except one. The guy before me thought it would be a good idea to sand the inner dish on one of the rims as it had scratches... Duh! It could be fixed up by a mag shop for bugger all tho i think. The tyres are totally shot. They were swapped out with other tyres cause the guy who sold the car wanted to keep the good tyres.

oops, and the car has been stored undercover for the time i have had it. Interior seems ok. Little dusty tho...

 

when running properly, does it smoke or is it clean

have you ever driven this car or seen it driving(in the past b4 accident), and is there any visible rust?

there are no side mirrors on the car

ones missing the others broken.....

Price Drop!!! Just had a compression test done and it is as follows:

Cylinnder 1=145, 2=150, 3=150, 4=145, 5=150, 6=125

Now chasing $1500... Grrrr cost me $2200 Damnit!

 

damnit, cyl 6 isnt quite dead yet but i wanted this to replace my bros engine, no point going from a buggered engine to a nearly buggered engine.

id be interested in coming and taking a look, but with those sort of results, i think you would still be asking a bit much at 1500.. not all that much you could part out of that car thats actually worth what your asking

 

not really, even with cyl 6 at 125 the engine would still be worth the 1k mark with turbos and everything, the gearbox around $800 if its good condition.

so theres more than what hes asking already. i know the gearbox leaks, but a replacement pan or w/e is dented shouldn't be to much? i think ?

Windscreen new $150
Tail lights $100
Headlights $200
Rims $300
Exhaust $100
Ecu $100
Radiator $100
And be up around the $1000 mark... Still leaves a bit to pull off and sell including the engine and attachments... Other miscellaneous bits from the interior, blah blah, blah
But anyways, if it doesnt sell, might have to start pulling it apart...
