    Hi all. As part of a national fundraising drive for the Australian 300ZX owners association, Sydney / NSW will be hosting a combined Cruise, Rally / Scavenger Hunt and BBQ on the last Sunday of July.

    This will be a great family day but also a chance for 300zx owners to get together for the usual banter and 'bonnets up'. We invite you, your friends and families to join us and take part in the Cruise, Rally/Scavenger Hunt and BBQ Lunch. We would love to see as many Zeds there as possible but if your car is not family friendly, please don't let that stop you from participating. All vehicles are therefore welcome.

    The fundraiser day will have three distinct elements:

    1. Cruise (From Casula to Jamisontown / Penrith)
    2. Rally / Scavenger Hunt ? From Jamisontown to Warragamba Recreation Reserve
    3. BBQ Lunch and Meet at Warragamba Recreation Reserve.


    If you are time stretched for one reason or another on this day, please feel welcome to join in at any of the three main segments.

    Entry Fee / Cover Charge. $20.00 per car
    To assist with catering costs and to help us with our fundraising goals we will be asking for an entry fee, for each attending vehicle of $20.00 per car. This includes lunch and refreshments at the BBQ Lunch, as well as some great prizes in the Rally / Scavenger Hunt.

    1. Cruise
    Cruise start time: Meet between 8:45am and 9:00am, Sunday 26th July.
    Where: The KFC Carpark, off Parkers Farm Place, Crossroads / Casula.
    Everyone attending should aim to meet in the carpark between 8:45am-9:00am for a quick cruise briefing and chat, with a plan to depart the carpark by no later than 9:30am.

    From here, our cruise destination will be towards the North West to The Nepean River Coffee Club, 78-88 Tench Avenue, Jamisontown. Our route from Casula will take us via the following roads: Camden Valley Way, Bringelly Road, Greendale Road, Mulgoa Road, Spencer Street, Loftus Street, Factory Road, Bellevue Avenue and finally Tench Avenue. There's ample parking available in the Coffee Club carpark and adjacent parking facilities. Assuming no major traffic issues, our arrival time at the Coffee Club Carpark will be around 10:30am.

    At the Coffee Club carpark, we will meet for a morning Coffee break and then a short briefing about the Rally / Scavenger Hunt. We will aim to depart the Coffee Club carpark no later than 11:00am.

    2. Rally / Scavenger Hunt
    From here our destination will be towards the south, through Wallacia and then on to the Warragamba Recreation Reserve; Picnic Ground #1, Farnsworth Avenue. Our route from Jamisontown will take us along the following roads: Tench Avenue, Bellevue Avenue, Factory Road, Loftus Street, Spencer Street, Mulgoa Road, Silverdale Road and Farnsworth Avenue.

    Along the way there will be some challenges and activities that form the Rally / Scavenger Hunt. So, there will be a few things to do along the way. (More about that in coming weeks).

    Assuming no major traffic issues, our arrival time at Warragamba, including the on-route challenges and activities will be approx. 12:30pm.

    3. BBQ Lunch
    After arrival at the picnic grounds, we will aim to be serving lunch at around 1:00pm.
    After lunch, we will make any official announcements and award prizes for the Rally / Scavenger Hunt. After which, you are welcome to mingle, or enjoy the facilities at the reserve including the opportunity to visit nearby Warragamba Dam (About a 10 minute walk from the reserve).

    Registering attendance
    To assist us with catering numbers, please do the following below to show your attendance status.
    As per usual, add your forum name to the list and let us know if you are 'going' / or 'maybe going', and in brackets let us know how many adults and children are attending. We will do a final number shout-out the week prior to the day.

    A couple of examples:
    YourForumName1: Going / Cruise, Rally, BBQ / (2 Adults: 2 Children) or,
    YourForumName2: Maybe / Rally, BBQ / (2 Adults)

    Cruise etiquette and things to observe
    We will soon post up some more info about cruise etiquette for the day and some rules to observe at each of the venues, where required; we will do this in the coming posts to this thread.

    One important thing I wish to suggest is that you try to pair up with another vehicle a 'buddy' if you will. I want to avoid having a situation where the whole group is constantly stopping for catch ups. If you have a GPS unit or, smart phone with GPS and maps installed, please use it; and plan the route in advance, using the Google map link provided as your guide. Set way points if you know how so you can stay on the route.

    I will organise a printed list of member?s names and mobile numbers so we can all stay in touch in the event of someone getting lost or having auto breakdown.

    Volunteers needed
    We will need a few people to help out on the day with various things including catering, serving and cleanup. We will also soon ask for assistance from anyone that can help with food contributions / donations. More about that later in subsequent posts.

    Supplemental meeting points
    For those of you wishing to join us from the north and south of Sydney (Wollongong, South Coast and Gosford, Newcastle for example. You are welcome to organise smaller inbound cruise groups. I will help coordinate these a little further down the track, but I am sure many of you will be able to sort this out amongst yourselves in the coming weeks; just be sure to allow yourselves enough time to meet up with the main cruise starting point at Casula.

    Payment of entry fee / cover charge.
    Guys, I don?t want to be chasing up money from people throughout the day; so please, when you arrive at the meeting point at Casula (Or, if you are meeting us later at either Jamisontown or Warragamba) please pay the entry fee to either myself or one of the other nominated people on the day, and you will be issued with a receipt. (I will advise who the other people are soon.)

    Additional donations welcome
    The forum gives a lot to all of us but never asks much in return. This is a fundraiser day; if you wish to make an additional cash donation on the day, you are welcome to do so and this will be greatly appreciated. We will have an 'AUS300ZX cash donation can' there for this purpose.

    Over the year ahead, we collectively need to raise funds for the ongoing operation of the forum, including, site hosting costs and future upgrades to improve the forum functionality. From here forward, each state will be organising fundraising activities on a regular basis, with at least a couple of events tied to fundraising activities planned for NSW every year.

    You need to be there to make this a fun and successful day.

    Well, I will have to excuse myself from the rally since I will be at least one of the people creating the challenges for the day anyway.

    Rob.. PM me about your Vegan requirements and I will sort it out in the purchase of supplies etc. (Up to you)


    Spread the word guys, please.. this needs to be a well attended day not only for the fun of it but for the $ cause as well.

    Sorry to hear mate, I had no idea as I'd never gotten a chance to personally drive the car before parting. I simply sold it on the information I was given.

    Thanks for contacting me privately about it though, will remember to express the same sort of curtosy if I have any problems with your products in the future :eek:

    It wasn't a serious dig, if it was I would have contacted you direct. I know you never used the box and I don't think Emile did either. Bottom line is that, if you buy second hand untested gear you shouldn't be surprised if it's not perfect. Still better than my old whining box. It's just a bit crunchy getting into second if you don't sync it well.

    Fair enough mate, just went down and double checked I gave you the right gearbox as I had a shitty one down there too. You definitely got the right gearbox. Once again, sorry for that.
