Noticing a bit of shudder in the front brake rotors, part recommendations?=

The thing is, it's an NA, so I have less rotor options, as I the turbo ones are slightly bigger. Anyone know of a cheap upgrade?

$155 for a pair of 26mm na front rotors on eBay.

TT brakes are hardly an upgrade at 2mm thicker. You wouldn't realize the braking advantages with such a small change.

If they need a service then service them with new fluid and parts. Or if your after an actual upgrade then get bigger brakes like brembos.

I don't really want to bother with a caliper swap, that's too much effort, mainly just rotors and pads. I was hoping for a bigger diameter, that would be an easy swap.

Bigger diameter means you need caliper spacers. Im not sure if the range of caliper spacers out there are suitable for the NA calipers.

Agree no point upgrading to TT, no change in diameter so no performance improvement. The extra thickness will provide a small benefit in reduced peak temperatures, but this will only really be of benefit on the racetrack or doing long down hill runs.

I have seen threads on this forum about DBA drilled and slotted rotors (with pads) upgrades for Zeds, just wait for the next bargain from Repco or Supercheap???

Wish I could find that thread.

PS: you arent referring to some kind of shudder in the brake pedal from anti lock?

That's a good option. The Brembo discs would shit all over anything readily available in this country.

Not really keen on spending that much. I got off the phone with DBA, they say that the part number is obsolete, I asked if there was a replacement, she said no, (i don't think she knows what obsolete means).

Just get a set of TRW rotors from Repco. Good quality European rotors and cheap. Almost as good as Brembo blanks.

I don't really see any for non turbos there :/

I can't really justify shopping at repco either.

So you have brake shudder? Have you confirmed it actually is the rotors? Many other things can contribute to a bit of shudder.

I'm assuming it is the rotors. Because it only occurs on braking. They also feel uneven to touch.

Maybe the rotors just need a machine?

If spending $300 for TT brake calipers, pads and brembo discs are too expensive. Which is a bargain.

Then i would just go find a workshop with a disc skimmer and have them lightly machined. Would cost all of maybe $40. Will give you a bit of a second wind with the life of the discs.

Also pending the condition of your pads, if there is enough meat left on them. Give them a bit of a rough rub on some flat concrete to just skim off any high spots and try that with the newly machined discs.

Prob going to the the cheapest way out of removing some of the shudder.
