hey guys did this today and took pics on the way. i used this tech article to do the job http://www.twinturbo.net/ttnetfaq/FAQpages/dashboard.html

took me about 2 hrs, and this was taking my time as it was my first time doing it, so clearly labelling bags with were the screws go etc...

ive edited the above tech article to include my version so hopefully it helps members more.

Take off the part over the gauges. There are two screws above the cluster.

Take off the trim around the cluster. Remove the panel below the steering wheel to get to all of the screws. Remove it anyway, because it'll happen later.

Next, remove the cluster. Be careful when removing the connectors.

When trying to remove the plug for the hazard switch you need to remove the hazard switch first. Firstly pull the button upwards and it will unclip. Then remove screws.

Take out the stereo. Pry off the trim piece above the head unit with a small flat head screwdriver. There are two slots if you look closely. Don't pry so much as stick the screw driver in the slot, push up, and then pull out. There are two other trim pieces at each side of the top vent. Remove those. Remove the four screws and pull the face plate off. Remove the next four screws and pull out the stereo, and disconnect the wires.
Remove the top of the center console. There are two screws. Remove the face plate to the stereo (also look for any bolts holding the dash down). There is also a screw under the ash tray I believe. Remove all screws and pull the piece up and forward. Disconnect the connectors to the light and cigarette lighter. Remove the side pieces to the center console. Should be able to do the drivers side one now. Might have to wait on the passenger side one until the glove box is out.

Pull the panel below the glovebox. Open the glove box, and remove the screw holding the arm to the glove box (it keeps it from opening too far. Once you remove the pictured panel there will be nuts holding the glovebox in place, removed these. Close it and take out the bolts below it. Remove it.

Behind the glove box is a metal frame. Remove any screws you see and pull it away from the dash.

pull the side vent off to remove the screws holding the trim.

Along the top of the dash there are vents. Carefully remove them. I would suggest using a small flathead screwdriver. Don't pry against the dash if at all possible. Put the tool in and lift. Once the first two clips come out, place the screwdriver in the same amount of distance between clips so when you are pulling it up you are pulling it from the clip area, this is so you don?t crack or break the vents. There are two of these pieces. The passenger side one has one of the sensors for your automatic temperature control if it's on the car. Once the trim piece is off, disconnect the sensor. Remove the felt stuff on the plug to reveal the point you press in to disconnect the plug.

Once both pieces are off, remove the three bolts from the top of the dash. There are vents on the very side of the dash (between the dash and the door panel) Yank the vents off (no screws). Underneath, find a few bolts holding the dash in. Look again under the dash and in the holes where the radio and cluster were. Check for any other bolt holding the dash.

These are just some pics of where I found extra screws holding the dash down.

There are four nuts holding the steering column up. Actually is looks like two, but when you take them off, there are two more on the same stud. Look under the dash for these, and remove them. Once you take the first nut off move the plate to the side so you can take out the other nut.

Give the steering column a tug if it didn't fall already. It should fall about six inches, giving enough room to pull the dash over it. Put a blanket over the steering wheel so not to scratch it.

That's about it. The dash should pull out now. Pull it firmly, because there are clips at the top which should be still holding it in. A continuos pull from the top of the dash to remove it won?t do, you will have to give it sudden abrupt pulls. Put your hands in the top vent and the side vent or somewhere on the side to get a good grasp of the top section of the dash. There is nothing else holding it in place, its just clips on either side of the dash and middle around the top. If the bottom does not feel loose then check again if you have missed any screws.

    And done: D
