Apologies, not specific to zeds but I'm assuming most Nissans are wired up in a similar fashion and hoping to use the same application to fix the S13.

I've tried NS.com and most owners have no technical knowledge. The only tech articles if you can call them that are just a few BOV and front mount installs.

I can't get the hazard lights working which are the only things holding up the roady. Unfortunately wiring and electronics I'm terrible at and trying to get my head around what the problem might be.

    Some symptoms:

Hazard switch has been changed with a known working unit, no go.

    All the indicators are working.

Indicators stop working once I push the hazard switch on.

    Checked fuses as per:

The hazard fuse is not blown.

There is a flasher unit which has been replaced by an aftermarket one which looks nothing like the stock black unit in my searches.

    Stock: [IMG]

    What I found: [IMG]

    Questions:

If the flasher unit is faulty, surely then the indicators won't flash either?

Is there a relay built into the flasher? or is the relay built into the switch?

At the moment is just seems like the hazards are not receiving power. If I was to put a multimeter to the connector, would I be correct to assume I'd find a constant 12V source in there?

The hazard switch could be faulty not engaging properly leaving a closed circuit???
    Just a thought.

I had a weird problem with my blinkers doing strange things a few years ago. It turned out being caused by a dodgy hazard light switch. I would try a different blinker relay, flasher unit or hazard light switch. Also the light check box at the back may cause funny things to happen in that circuit possibly.

Make sure you check the fuses with a meter, they can sometimes look good but still be faulty.

That did cross my mind, I'll have another crack at it tomorrow. Will replace the fuse for the sake of it.

Sourced another switch today, I now have 3 of them so surely one of them works otherwise I'm really gonna be pulling hair out.

    Problem found.

Damn aftermarket alarms. Somewhere along the line it was taken out and bypassed but not very well. Hazard light which was spliced into for central locking but not reconnected.

Throwing my hands up, calling in a favour from a friend who does installs to properly bypass the thing.
