    Hey,

I just bought a new temp sensor for my A/C and was told that it connects near the A/C Dryer. I found a pic of it on Google Images, but have been unable to find it. Where is it located in the engine bay and roughly how big is it?

    Regards

Then I think I may have a problem... I checked under there earlier tonight and all I saw were a pair of pod filters... plus the rear end of an FMIC and some random fan I didn't know was there lol...

I'll take another look tommorrow and get back to you.

    Regards

Pull out the splash shield from under the airbox and go up from underneath. All shall be revealed.
A FMIC will make access difficult from the top.

The Ambient temp sensor is possibly what you are referring to, and you will find it on the drivers side around the Headlight/Aircon drier/FMIC area.

Mine is secured to the bumper on the burgundy car

Should be easy to get at through centre panel. This might help.

FMIC can make it a PITA. The yellow Z also has the ballasts for the HIDS located to the FMIC support bar, so this may distort my perception.

AC dryer is the small black canister on the left side, 2 wiring harnesses connected at the top.

I ran out and did that just for you :)

I could pull off a front bar with my eyes closed now :p and put it back together!

Thanks for the pics everyone, they really helped me know where things were meant to be...

It would seem I have a greater problem than I expected. Not only was I missing an ambient temp sensor. But I seem to be missing the A/C Dryer... I'm not 100% sure where the compressor is, but I found a belt pulley (not sure if that's the correct term) half rusted which wasn't connected to anything down near the bottom right of the engine. It didn't spin when I started the engine. I may be missing the compressor too :(

I know the car had an engine swap done to a TT engine (used to be NA) perhaps the mechanic took out all of the air-con stuff to make room, or perhaps it was the previous owner

At the moment my primary concern is finding where to plug in this sensor so that my climate control stops trying to heat up a -86 degree cabin. After that I can start thinking about getting the air con put back together... (Any idea roughly how much it will cost?) If worse comes to worse I can live without air con, that's what windows and targa roofs are for lol.

Any ideas where I might find this connector??

Take a look at the front of the motor on the passenger side.
There are two pipes that run to the side of the radiator.
Look immediately under these pipes and you'll see the compressor.

It's the only device on that side of the motor that has a belt running around it.

Yep... definately missing the compressor :(

I am curious who is the guilty party for taking it out lol.

I have so far been unable to find the connector to plug this temp sensor into :(

P.S. How do you thank people on these forums??
