Hi ive been here for a while but unfortunetely until i work up more money im still stuck on my bluebird series 1.
in a few years i will have the funds avaliable for a zed and therein lies my question.
since the NA has a high compression ratio and gas has a high octane i was thinking of purchasing an NA converting it to gas and then taking the manifolds and turbos loom etc from a TT engine and chucking it on the NA. my theory is that with the high compression ratio and the high octane rating of gas i could run say psi similiar to a stock TT or higher but with less lag and cheaper to fill her up.
my uncle owns his own workshop and has been fitting gas to vehicles including jap imports for about 15 years now so since your a knowledgeable bunch id like your thoughts :)

If this could be done to a TT, Im all ears :p

it would be better to buy a twin turbo and chuck in an NA diff if your looking for better ratio's...

as for the engine, having an na and modding it to have turbo would be a big job....i dont even think it would be worth it dude....there would be alot of things to change...

others will get into more detail....

labour cost isnt really an issue its moreso my uncles and my spare time.
so i can resist the urge and wait. my main goals were a engine quicker on boost and still running around stock say bit more psi 10-12 but with the cost efficiency
of gas. maybe im asking too much!

A few people have done the NA with turbo's conversion on twinturbo.net. I believe they have to be tuned extensively in order to allow them to run safely due to the higher compression ratio. Check over at tt.net for more info.

Hey Guys, what about putting an N/A just on gas? without the turbo conversion, is it worth putting the car on gas?, space in the boot? and money it will cost along with performance, as its mainly vans fords n holdens put on gas, for saving money is it fesable?
    thanks

    red32 You talkin' to me?

Biggest problem is what size tank and where to locate it. It can't go in the "Boot" because that is part of the passenger compartment, so it has to go under the car.

gas tanks r tiny compared to petrol tanks. if you go solo gas remove to petrol tank u can fit in a 200L gas one!

dont forget man, gas does run a high octane but it also burns hella hot, so you have to add that in, 300s bay is crowded as all shit, be sure to get mc massive rad+vents n what not.

im pondering the idea of a TT zed running solo gas :)

Gas + Turbo = Dosn't work too well

Something about the fact that gas is injected under pressure and the positive manifold pressure makes the whole process "non-working". I'm not 100% sure of the exact details but I'm sure someone can elaborate.

Hi-powered engines will never be run cheaply. Unless you can go develop (safely mind you) an engine that will successfully split water molecules (H20) into hydrogen and water, then use the hydrogen to power your internal combustion engine., and spew out oxygen.

    I've been drinking a little
