    Hey all,

Well after selling my 300 around 6months ago i purchase a crummydore (big mistake) got bored then purchased an MR2 GT (great handling) but finally i have bit the bullet and purchased me a 350Z... Damn am i happy with this machine!

So i'm excited, back in with the Z crowd can now come along again on the fantastic cruises that the guys here in SE QLD organise WOOOHOOOO..... :D

While owning the MR2 i jumped up on their forum but it is nothing like the Z community.. No one is helpful nor are they as good a bunch of friendly people as this forum.

    Well i'm back.. YAY!

Here is a little info on my new car and a picture so keep me on the emailing list Rob and Pex... :D

    2003 Nissan 350Z Track
has only 39,000k on the clock and all is stock but some nice mags :zlove:

The thing i love, not as powerful as the old ZX i think but the torque is unbelievable! (still learning to drive it though)

Are there many members on here driving 350Z's ??
What are peoples thoughts on them ?? And have you driven one ??

I have fallen head over heals, my poor fianc'e hehehe ;)

    Here is a picture.. :D :D :D :D

    MR2 GT vs. 300ZX TT 2+2 - My Opinion..

    Hey NickTT,

    Cheers for the comment!!

    MR2 GT vs. 300ZX TT 2+2 - My Opinion..

The MR2 although almost as heavy as the 300 feels so much lighter and would just stick into any corner, you could really throw it around compared.

Mine was just a 2ltr off the start but with its high-flowed turbo it hit boost around 3k and put you back in the seat.

Understeer can be a handful if your not to experienced as once you start to lose the MR2 its bloody hard to gain control QUICKLY again.

I love the look (MR2) plus the mid engine and suspension setup does in my opinion feel allot better than the 300 but the 300 kills the MR2 as a comfortable cruising car with allot more easy to reach power mods.

The MR2 you can work on the engine though, always a good thing but need to lean over the sides risking damage to the paint.

All the usual things as the 300?s check for, water leaks in targe, coolant leaks as has like 2k of piping etc etc. Hop on the forum and track down someone who knows all about MR2 to come check it out with you like Mark (Zed4Life does for 300?s) and get an RACQ check for good measure.

    Again only my opinion.

Good luck finding the right one if you go down that path!
    Cheers, Dwayne :)

cool good to have you back

Yeah ur old car is running well. The engine, dispite the poor compression, is proving to be a reliable work horse
next year I'll be turning it into something a little better than that ;)

How much did you pay for that one?

Hey mate, what are the plans for next year? :)

    $$ Value

    Hey Yeti...

I was looking at many, for 32-35k you can get one with 100k on the clock. (require major service - no thanks)

I payed just under 36k for this one with 39k on the clock. The fellow needed to sell or trade fairly quickly as purchasing an M3, the car yard offered him 35k as was... so i couldn't get any cheaper. :D
Market value with these low kms is 42k + the mags. :) :) so i feel fairly good there.

Only 3x marks on the entire car. **yes i have been over top to bottom a few times :zlove: its straight and spotless..
Of course these marks you can not see but i know they are there.

    :zlove: :zlove: :zlove:

MR2's are cute little girls cars, not sure what you really expected there! lol Sweet deal on the 350, not my favourite color I'll be honest but slap a TT kit on that and it'll really go.

    upgrades planed

    Suspension
Well she needs new bushes so at the same time im looking at hicas removal and possibly fitting coilovers

    Under the hood:eek:
Then the engine is my next target. The poor compression has limited my options a little, so short term ill just be looking at a DAMN good cleanup of the engine bay, chasing and repairing boost leaks, and a total overhall of the intercooler piping

    flooooooow
Then it will be 3" dumps, and full exhaust system with hiflow cats

    Kill it
I may then also throw in a 2 stage boost controller with missle switch so i can keep the car reliable on stock boost, with the option of more "fun" when required

    Tuuuuune
    plus a Tune of course,

Soul Train.... i mean Drive train
And a better clutch, so maybe a lightend flywheen and underdrive pully kit at the same time

    Shiiiiiit
Long Term due to the shit compression, the engine will need to be rebuilt so im thinking of stroking to a 3.2 Ltr but not sure yet

    Shiney things
In parellel with all of the above, is the cosmitic attention she'll be getting. Changing seals to stop targa's leaking, trim, new seats front and back, fixing the loose fitting consol controls, u know... the little things, pluss replacing most electrical lines as the original wires are not in good health just due to age.

New rims will DENFINATLY be on the horizon but coz u fitted brand new nexens ;) i have no excuse as yet haha. Still got too much tred hehe

    1/4 Mile times
By the way, u said when you sold her you'd be keen to know what she runs down the 1/4. Can't remember if i told you.
She only ran a 14.020 and then clutch was slipping rest of the night.

It was a "warm" night but not boiling. Pretty poor result :( BUT that said, everyone seemed to be doing crap except the V8's. She still beat a stock Supra, but yeah...... she needs some work
You can watch YOUR old car in action here if you want:
    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BX8tNQ1u70Q

This year i have other finacial commitments... but next year.......next year it all begins ;)

Of course I wish i'd spent less on the initial purchase leaving more coin for all of the above, but such is life. The past is history ;)
Id never buy interstate again lol Too much hassle for both of us haha but we got there ;)

i was one of those people but they grow on you

The fact that it doesn't have factory option huffers is a big letdown though :(

S15's are HOT once kitted. Kind of bland without

Personally if for some reason the Zed were to go, I'd go back to a 180SX and look into an RB swap

That or i'd hunt for a damn nice 240 or 260 zed

ooooorrrrrrrrrr jump ship completly and look for a classic V8 of some kind

Quite like the Z33 and it has such huge potential. The only reason I don't get one is the outlay removes any left over coin for mods. What you paid for yours I have spent on my 32 which would run rings around any Z33.

The few things you will have over us is reliability and most likely, no rattles in the cabin ;)
