I would be but there doesnt seem to be many people interested.

The other thing is that it is a tube and fin which I was led to beleive isnt as good as a bar and plate design. The only bar and plate designs however are large fmics and I wasnt really interested in an fmic. I would rather upgrade the smics as I want a dual pod setup under that front Z nose panel rather than move the pods to the smic position which would make them lower down and more chance of sucking up water.

Well, I just registered my interest on TTZ so it's 3 now.

I read about the difference between tube/fin and bar/plate from what I can gather the upshot was that that it wouldn't make such a difference for street use, as long as it flowed ok, becuase the zed doesn't really stay on boost for very long at any one time.

I think someone posted it last week or smthg.

Anyway, only a couple more are needed for it to go ahead it seems.

    stillen are B/P

and are $1478 shipped, the difference is $528
for street use these are fine, and run cooler
tube and fin get on it!

    ok..

so you rekon tube and fine are fine for street. thats what i sorta think in the end. when your boosting your accelerating and increasing speed so its gonna have air flow.

those stillens are expensive, wheres the price from ?

Stillens seem pretty expensive, but check out z1 motorsport...

I don't have quotes, but based on currency exchanges the prices look ok and some of the coolers look massive (much greater depth). But the stillens are under a grand (USD) on that site.

I just got my payout from previous job

    the stillen SMIC

price is from conceptZ that price is $1478 aus dollars
with shipping included, its a very good price,
considering TTz sell the same product at over
$2000, that considered, im in the GB, at TTZ.
Those coolers are huge, and compair very well
to the stillens,in how they proform.
And like i said are $528 cheeper than stillen
    shipped from concept Z.
So if your thinking about upgrading your coolers
and dont want to change the look, GO for
SMIC, ONE more needed come on!

    I'm tempted...

I'm tempted to be number 5, very tempted.
    Someone convince me...

Yeah, do it. 1) you'll be the man. 2) your Zed won't attract so much...

attention, esp the unwanted kind, from el puerco.

    3) you'll save money on the install by doing it yourself, as it's a relatively straightforward project where comparitively little can go wrong.

    4) no messing around with the airflow to the radiator and oil cooler, as might happen with a front mount.

    5) it will probably do, in terms of hp, for most mild mods on a zed, and if at some point you decide to go nuts and need a fmic, then the alloy coolers will be really easy to sell and recoup your money.

    6) you don't have to cut the bracket between the headlights (some characterise this as a 'minor' modification, but on top of dicking with the front crash characteristics, that was too much for me - however I did see one very clever install that modified the plumbing to get it behind the bracket, which was very stealth, but completely beyond me).

    enough reasons? Come on!

can someone give me dimensions of stock intercoolers

I dont know if mine are stock or not, they dont have plastic end tanks, and they seem rather large. If they have already been upgraded then im gona have to pull out :(

    Cheque those coolers again

Claymen, even from here they look stock, har har!

all the stock intercoolers had plastic end caps

or at least so i thought.

either way they just look too big but as I havent had the time to jack the car up and go over it properly (nor do I have measurements of the stock intercooler size) I cant be sure. Also tempted to just go the route of the FMIC.

What sorta kw/hp or boost are these rated to ?

    smic

from TTz should handel 16/18psi and 300rwkw
im not thinking off these numbers for my car,
but if you look in Max'z profile he is.
so stock to that above, should run well
    either way!
Geoff.ps looked for stock cooler size, couldnt
find it, seen it somewhere, escapes at the moment.

    Stock cooler size

For those that would like to know, the stock cooler CORE size is 170mm x 163mm x 60mm.

Guys make sure you get the Stillen air guides that go

    in front of the SMIC'rs.

Those Stillen IC's are a very nice bit of kit. If I hadnt upgraded the Turbos and gone FMIC I would have bought these.

    I just measured

i measured just a tad over 10cm in thickness, also has metal end tanks wasnt enough room to measure the rest without taking the wheel off which im gonna do tomorow so its looking promosing that i have already got upgraded intercoolers

    Trektrader69 is right

about the stillen ducts, they would keep things
a little cooler, and thats good! but they wont fit the ttz coolers, and at that price they can keep em.
I reckon you could modify the stock ducts to fit!
or without to much expence fab something to suite
which i plan to do, maby out off light guage alloy
    sheet.
