after noticing a number of items all shipped to the same address they decided to X-Ray the goods, after finding some copper type substance inside on the X-Ray's, they have now decided they needed to be tested are drilling holes in them as we speak, checking for cocaine possibly.

I emailed BNR for some tracking info, didn't get a number but they said to expect the remainder over the next day or two. Perhaps they did bit send them all at once.

Meanwhile can all buyers please pm me postcodes so as I can get postage costs. They're a tad heavy (16lb) for prepaid so ill need to quote each parcel separately.

    Thanks!

It takes weeks before you get a letter from customs.
Last time I had an item seized, it took 6 weeks after purchase before I was notified.

Do you have a tracking number?

Thanks to those who have sent details. If you have sent me your complete address I have sent you the postage cost and will be mailing them tomorrow. Please do the right thing and make the payment as soon as you get the PM as I'm sticking my neck out to send them sooner rather than later :)

If you haven't yet sent your details please do so ASAP so as I can get them out of my garage!

Glad they're starting to turn up!

You guys won't be thanking me after you've fit them...

I started fitting mine today. What a **** of a job.

Very little space to work with which in my case was made worse by

    1. 57mm radiator sits much closer to the front of the motor
    2. Fan shroud is welded to the radiator
    3. Sandwhich plate means oil filter and lines hang that little bit lower
    4. Tension rod support brace takes up even more real estate
    5. Can't remove sway bar (in it's entirety) without removing tension rod brace (which I don't want to do!).

Got the old alternator out, now need to make up a new "battery" feed line. This is going to be heaps of fun seeing as the battery line runs up into the loom and disappears (battery is in the boot) in a maze of conduit and tape. It definately winds up at the battery somehow as it has power when the ignition is off (favourite tool for today? Test light) but I don't know how it gets there... I have a power cable running straight from the battery to the starter motor and I'm thinking I'll make up a line to run off the back of the alternator to that cable. So I'll have parallell 8 gauge wires (one to battery via starter motor, one to battery via god knows where) rather than a single 4 gauge wire.

    Good times.

took me like an hour and a half last time i pulled off my alternator and put it back on, I removed it to replace my cracked bracket, decided to clean the alt while i was at it.

Just pull the radiator and hoses completely, makes life a little easier.

But I wont be putting this one on till I rebuild my power steering pump.

    Thanks heaps Rob

Rob, I think you and the others will be thoroughly happy with this alternator.
I got the same one from BNR and had it installed last May. You're right, it was not an easy go. I had already pre-positioned an auxilliary 4ga cable to the alternator and installed it loosely to it prior to installing the alternator itself. Abit easier that way that doing it after the fact. I left the oem alternator/starter/battery cable in place as I have a new oem harness in place already. I just ran an auxilliary 4ga cable direct to the battery. And of course followed that up with The Big 3 wiring practice.
That BNR alternator was oroiginally advertised as an NA one on the BNR Ebay site. After I coontacted them and found out what cores they were using, I later determined that they were using the correct oem (NA) unit as a core for their rebuilds. I informed them that these will also fit a TT Z32 so perhaps they may have modified their listing since then.
Anway, I've had good results from this upgrade as I constantly monitor my voltage levels in real time via my ipaq PPC and ECUTalk. My voltage levels are exactly as they were before (my old alternator was stiill working as per oem specs) if not a tad/slightly better.
Hope this helps you and/or the other GB people.
