VIC Heathcote Raceway part 2 Sunday July 10th

Slowly getting ready for this. Adjustable cam gears are in and dialed in. Made a noticeable difference. Still can't get to the bottom of the timing problem but each time I try something I at least fix something else.

Did a boost leak test yesterday and found a major leak so hopefully that will net me a bit more power as I was seeing no power difference after 11psi. Raining here all weekend so can't try it out to see the improvement.

Hoping to swap to an LSD next weekend and with a bit of luck some dump pipes will be going in around then to

I'm having problems getting slicks. So at this stage not sure if I will run.

The semi-slicks don't hold the car down.

 

Just run without them. It's not a competition, just a bit of fun at the strip.

And just for those that don't know. Last time I was there in Jan food (hot dogs pies and soft drink etc) are all $2.

So no need to bring anything except yourself and your car. And something healthy if you don't like clogging arteries like I do

 

Excellent, now we just have to hope the weather is good on the day. At least air temps will be very turbo friendly.

 

all i said was to myself , i was just going to fix the bottom bleed screw on the rad as it was leaking at Philip island ( yes over a year ago lol ) anyway , so i fixed that finally started the car , as i was putting water in it , i undone the top bleed valve and would you f@ken know it i busted it so now water is everywhere lol ( I LOVE MY ZED ) anyway going to fix it tomoz

 

Lol, it's a zed! Mine would rape me bad whenever I touched it.
I couldn't check the oil without stressing about the chain reaction of problems that would follow. That said I still miss the car and can't wait to build another.

 

are we going to meet up somewhere or are we just going to meet at the track ?

Would i be able to rent a helmet on the day or do i have to buy one beforehand? Also anything else i need to know or have?

Im in Bundoora so closer to Taylors Lakes so if allrite with badxtc i would love to come along...

Wearing a long sleeved shirt and jeans would be allrite im guessing and chucks is my choice of shoes so hopefully not too strict lol

Not sure about renting a helmet but I'm sure you'd be able to borrow one off someone on the day.
Or just buy one as they're not that expensive. Stop at AMX in Keilor Park Drive just off the calder and you'll easily find an approved helmet for under $100. Mine cost about $70. Just depends on the specials they have going at the time.
Long sleeve shirt and jeans are fine. And as long as you're wearing proper shoes you'll be fine.

Don't worry, there's always plenty of noobs. My wife for one on a motorbike and its been about 10years since I last raced. Don't worry about stuffing up as must of us usually do It's just about going out and having a bit of fun without worrying about cops pulling you up.
