Another year, another GOR done and dusted. Had an awesome day and thoroughly enjoyed the cruise. Big thank you again Kingy (BADZX) for organising another massive GOR cruise and definitely can't wait for next years run. It was so good to finally be back driving my beloved Z again after 11 months of begin off the road hich also made this years GOR cruise extra special as I finally got a chance to relieve my hugh 2000spec replica project to the Vic members and get some feedback and support from the guys before I post anything to the rest of the forums.

The cruise began as it always has at the Todd Rd servo/KFC meet point. By the time I had arrived there were at least 10 Zs already parked in the car park and the owners were already chatting away. As I had hoped for my Z created alot of attention and as soon as I got out of the car I was swamped with questions and congratulations from all guys there.

Here she is all finished and ready for a big day of cruising.:zlove:

It didn't take long for the rest of the attendees to arrive at the meet point and take over the carpark. I think we ended up with 20 or so Zs before we headed off. BigCol rallied the troops for a brief meeting before we headed off to avalon and from the carpark to the Highway Zs occupied all lanes:).

Second meet point was at Avalon, and we picked up a few more Zs here to bring the total Z attendee amount to around 23 - 25 cars. After take photos of all the Zs crusing today I was again spawmed with questions by Blipman the original Forum creator and he initally thought my 2kspec replica was a geniune 2kspec Z32 which we all know are very rare to find in Australia. After telling him it was a replica he was shocked to know this because of the level of detail I had gone too to make my replica look just like an geniune 2kspec. I answered everyones questions as best I could as there is so much I have done to my Z that I was not able to detail out everyone part I had changed. I realised after 20 minutes of walking around chatting with various groups of people I needed to get money out and so I went into the servo to get some cash out and while I was waiting in line I bumped into Dean (bRacket) who then said to me everyone is leaving we better hurry. I quickly got my cash out and ran back to the Z to find the carpark almost empty. thank you BigCol, Jedi and Peter Black for waiting for me to get onto the freeway so I didn't end up missing the cruise.

So we were off, bypassed geelong and headed straight for Lorne and because this time of year is when all the schoolies are out and about Lorned was packed with people and the look on everyones faces when 25+ Z's started rolling through the main street was priceless. It made me feel so proud to own one of these beautiful sports cars and I will never get sick of that feeling. After passing through Lorne we made it to the main event, the great Ocean Road. and this was where I was going to try out one of my new suspension systems I installed as part of my project. The USDM OEM
adjustable suspension system allows me to adjust between soft or stiff dampening in my shocks and I wasn't sure I would notice any real difference when driving. So after a few turns I decided to flick the switch and what a difference it made. The car felt like it was on train tracks and the car suck to the road at decent speeds I would normally slow down for. Unfortunately as expected the pack I was cruising with in got stuck behind 2 buses and so once we slowed down I could feel every single liitle bump in the road, so all I had to do was flick the switch back to sport and the car smooved out all the bumps. I loved the new system and I was using it as much as I could.

So after 20 - 30 mintues of twisting and turning through the GOR we finally made it to Apollo Bay for lunch and to stretch how legs. I got to catch up with Cam, Abz, Dean and Travis for lunch where ABz ordered way to much food for his stomach and again he detailed his near death experience with a orange commodore I think. lol Good times:).

After Apollo Bay we headed inland for some spirited driving throught the Oatway National park with lots of high speed bush roads to create a peaceful surroundings to drive in.
we then made it to the Cape Oatway lighthouse meet point. Here a few members went off to photograph the amazing scenery from the top of the lighthouse while the rest of the
members stayed in the car park and just socialised with each other. I was again questioned about my Z with a small circle of people surrounding me and my car to have a good look inside
    and out.

Upon leveling cape oatway lighthouse we were giving a rare opportunatity to be providing photograph for the hardcore photographers on the day and they were set up along the road leading out of the carpark with instructions to get hi res action shots of the cars driving by. Thank you Col, Mark, Martin and Kingy for providing their cameras and their skills to hopefully provide everyone with some amazing photos and so far I am loving everything single photo they have posted.

When everyone turned back onto the main road we were again blessed with high speed bush roads to drive through but unfortunately I lost sight of the car in front of me and so I became temporaryleader of the rear pack of cars behind me and not knowing where to we were heading, when I spotted a sign indicating Geelong's direction I pulled over to ask ABZ, who was behind me which, way should we go? and he said I think we should go left to geelong and so accepting that this was were we would be ending up I
turned left and headed towards geelong, with the group following me. It turns out we were surpose to be heading back to apollo bay and so I feel terrible that I cost most of the attendees to miss the last half of the cruise.

Anyways I still enjoyed the 10th anniversary of the GOR cruise and I can't for the next cruise to catch with everyone one again. hope to see you all again soon guys.

Agree with Col mate don't stress about it, I certainly still had a great day, nothing ruined here. Just seems like a good excuse to do it again before next November!
