Fuel injector to lower plenum insulator

Just had my injectors out to replace the o rings in the injector and the fuel rail to lower plenum insulator was to be replaced as well. I thought the engine was a S2 engine since theres s2 ptu, s2 fuel injectors and it is a 1995 model so i ordered the s2 fuel rail insulator. However when the s2 fuel rail insulator was put it, it fit the injector properly, but it was smaller than the seating in the lower plenum. Now because of that, there is an air leak with the S2 fuel rail insulator.

Does anyone know about what the issue might be? I'm guessing that its had the s2 fuel rail swapped into a s1 engine hence the insulator not fitting into the lower plenum. The fuel rail insulator that came off the lower plenum originally looks to be a s1 insulator. Can i just use a new set of s1 fuel rail to lower plenum insulator to seal it? Is there any better solution?

Pics would help, I’m having trouble picturing it.

If you have Series 2 injectors they should be in a series 2 rail that will only fit a series 2 lower plenum. The ports in the lower plenum are different compared to Series 1. Assuming it was all put together prior to servicing it sounds like you have been supplied he incorrect part. Perhaps comparing the parts that were removed from the vehicle to be parts you were supplied with would shed some light...?
