Rattles and Squeaks, a passenger was less than impressed. She commented that the car looks nice but not really now that she has been in it.

So I have already started investigating the window rattle (got new window sliders to put in) and I have also found that my window track on passenger side was missing a bolt. So replacing that made a big difference, but now I can hear a squeak that I thought might be from the targa rubber.

Well it wasn't the targa rubber.
It was the door vinyl rubbing on the rubber.

If you look closely you can see a wrinkle, because the vinyl has started to shrink with age and the glue has failed. That wrinkle and a section below, to the bottom of that trim piece is now rubbing and making a squeak that the passenger can hear.

Easy fix is to wax up that vinyl and the lubrication will prevent the squeak and the potential negative vibes from your passenger.

I checked in search but could not find any specific mention of this, maybe everyone knows this or their exhaust and sound systems have been used to hide the squeaks.

This is an easy one to minimise, if reglueing vinyl is way down on the list of things you would rather do next weekend. o_O
