Evz's amazing black Zed is due for a full respray. There are a couple of thngs that I want to get cleared up before I take her to the 'body and paint artist'

    1. Headlights are to be replaced with 2k spec xenons. Anyone know if the wiring is the same as non-2k spec? I don't want a call from the 'body artist' saying that the wiring is different and have to find out how to fix it then.

    2. Wheels. Is it worth me getting an old set of wheels for the duration of the painting. The last thing that I want is overspray on rims and tyres.

    3. Does any one know how hard it is to replace the t-top finishers? Is this something that my 'body artist' can do without info from me?

Thanks in advance. WA Zedders, see you on the next cruise :)

    Cheers,
    Evan.

    answers...

I just got my car back from a respray so.....

I left my Simmons on the car and they did not get any overspray on them.

I didnt replace my finishers as they are still in good nic. But it can be a time consuming process. Either do them yourself, or print out a tech article with step by step instructions for your panel beater..

    Cheers

From what I've read, wiring needs to be modified to use the Xenon headlights.

I'm a bit confused about this one. I know Coz sells 2 sets, one modified to suit the US market, and one unmodified. Of course that doesn't mean that they are straight swap for standard JDM. I'll have to look further into this one.

    Thanks.

    Thanks.

I saw that you were getting a respray. Have we seen any pictures yet? :)

Shame on you if we haven't! :)

    Well....

Before Pics I need to get the rear bar repainted because I disgracefully scratched it. And the painter wants to spend like 2 days on it giving it a proper cut and polish. After that, I'll take some pics :)

    Egg ....

    The Modification...

...would be for LHD, lights point a certain way depending on what side of the road we drive on. You want the un-modified obviously. :)
I've seen them advertised as prewired and ready for direct fit... but I thought these came with ballasts?

Thanks. I've got the undmodified suitable for RHD I was just wondering if there are differences in wiring between 2K and non 2K

    Cheers,
    Evan.

    Egg ....

    Think it's quite basic.

I just realised the ballast is incorporated.

    This pic may help.

Cra-Z-Boy no nissan at all :(

both light sets Coz sells wont be plug and play and will need to be mod(connectors cut off)
It very easy to wire in the Xenons ...done it 3 times
Give me some time to remember how I did it.:confused:
If I do remember right you need to run a earth wire to both and just tap into the stock power wire and your ready to rock and roll.
I got 2 male to female connector kits from Jaycar cut and never had an issue

I replaced my T top finishers. Glad I did as they look terrific.

You have to order the right paint code if you are doing a stock respray.

They are held on with double sided tape which is a pain to get off. You dont have to remove the glass or the plastic lock mech from the steel trim to swap them out. But most of the mech and all the rubbers have to be unscrewed/removed before you swap them.

Suggest you buy new rubbers before you do this as its likely they will be buggered after you pull them off.
